crbanshee Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 i found this stuff called water wetter by red line..if you ride in a place were it gets hot i highly recomend picking this stuff up..it kept my bike way way cooler than coolant ever did. it runs $10 a bottle and u just use it in place of antifreeze or your regular coolant..add 3 0z to a gallon in your radiator and you will run much cooler than ever before Quote
Animalman294 Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 I heard it was the same as engine ice, you just don't mix it with water, you run it straight. I already bought mine so I will try it and see how it works. Some people swear by the engine ice and other's the water wetter. Quote

Ethylene glycol transfers heat better than propylene glycol (ie. engine ice). Jeff Quote
Otis Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I started using that stuff in my R1, at the track. Never noticed the temp there, but on the street, in stop and go traffic in the dead of summer, the bike did run cooler. Quote
RNBRAD Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 The redline water wetter and distilled water cools better than anything. It will cover your anti-corrsion properties and your boil over but no freeze protection. So if your banshee never see's anything below 32, that may be the best way to go. Quote
pimpeinkc Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 it is such a pain to run that stuff, can't mix with this, can't mix with that. i have the pro design impeller and some inline coolers. so i quit using that stuff. i would rather pay a bit more up front to mod my system than 18 bucks for 2 liters or what ever that engine ice costs. i would stick with regular anti freeze mixed to the right amount. that way if you need to stick some water in there to get back to camp it is not a big deal.
