409shee Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 what is the difference in flat and round slide carbs. performance or just the slides? is there a big difference im tring to decide what carbs to get and need some more opinions! Quote
BenBB Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 From what I've read (not firsthand so take that into account), flatslides offer better throttle response but roundslides offer better air velocity (so flat is better suited for low-end power delivery, roundslide for top). The D-shaped slides are an attempt to get the best of both worlds, but doesn't perform as well at the extremes as the other two. Also Keihen vs. Mikuni, Keihens tend to have more "overlap" between circuits, so it takes a little more work to dial them in than typical Mikunis... Quote
2banshees Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 i personally havent messed with flatslides that much, but roundslides you have to make sure they are in the right side and find that little notch they slide in. i think for tuning flatslides would be the ticket. someone correct me if im wrong Quote
