jay shafer
F.A.S.T or Passion Racing Engines. F.A.S.T. said that i would be a lot faster and quicker by just doing these mods as follows......etc sst pipes, K&N fileter kit, V Force reeds, noss cool head with 19 cc domes, timing plate, and if i wanted to port i could do that also, but all of this is just bolt ons Passion as follows.... no boring just hone for new pistons a set to handle the HOT MX Port job, CPI pipes, or FMF Fattys, NOSS head ,and of course the port job and he said that i would be hard to handle if this is done
01bansheeke
What exactly are you wanting to do. Do you want your bike ported or not? there is a big dfference in fmf fattys and cpi's..what kind of terrain do you ride in etc are all factors. where are you located???? chris642
i hear passion builds some fast bikes but ya, i hear FAST racing is real good too. Passion seems to go for more bottom end, mine is very snappy on the bottom, and still a beast on top. I think that hot mx port job is a little more set to the top end, but dont quote me one that. Of course the port job route will make your bike MUCH faster than with just bolt ons, thats the secret to a fast banshee. I would get T5 pipes instead of getting FMF's, but CPI's kill them both on top. the T5's are a good mix of bottom and top. What kind of riding do you want to do, that will be the biggest factor in this.

Rock-46
On a brand new stock bike, I would throw on some T5's and other bolt on's like FAST said. That will wake up your bike a lot over stock. Once you get used to that and are in need of a top end, then get it ported.

1sreamin350
My setup has a F.A.S.T. strong play port, and some rockets. My bike has a ton of low end and never ending top end and this thing is still in the process of jetting! Cant wait till I get it dialed in. Call up Jeff! You can also pm him at fast toys.. Just "GET ER DONE".. Edited June 9, 2005 by 1sreamin350
rocketboy
if i were you,id pick jims(passion) dune port and some rocket or shearers and some vforce2's with a .035 milled up head .
wesw
both are great engine builders. i have a passion bike is its a beast,by my thoughts, ive seen jeff bikes in action, they are beast also. basically its a toss up. both guys are beyond nice and really knowledgeful. so its your personnal opinion, either way you wont get screwed. if you choose a passion +4 stroker, i can get you really close on the jetting. also i would suggest the cpi or shearers on both motors. my bike as plenty of low end with shearers. and a kick ass top best of luck, whatever you choose you wont be unsatified. dajogejr
With a brand new bike...stock, just get the bolt ons for now. They will pave the way for future enhancements, anways. Pipes, open up the air box and get a good filter. If you don't ride in mud or water, remove the airbox all together... Pipes alone make the biggest difference from a bone stock shee. The stockers are terrible. Three more cheap mods that are a must have in my opinion are the boon tune. Lightened flywheel, Modded shiftstar and a milled head. Don't forget about a cheap, advanced timing plate. It's 35 bucks plus shipping from Ricky Stator....shees love timing. +4 is about perfect. Once you bolt on these goods, and get used to your new bike....you're going to love it. Ride it for a while. Once you're ready to freshen up the top end, if you still want more speed, go for the gusto. Port, etc. Jim and Jeff both build quality. I'm sending my motor over to Jeff after the 4th of July...and I'm giddy to get it done. SSTs and T5s are great pipes. I did demo a set of Rockets on my stock motor (Stock bore, stock porting) and I honestly like my T5s better. However...once it's ported and the top end is freshened up...I might give them another try. You'll be smoking all those other bikes with just bolt on mods...unless that guy on the 450R starts putting some coin into that thing.... jay shafer
what is a boon tune and a modded shiftstar? by the way thanks guys for the replies
dajogejr
Boon Tune is three things: Lightened flywheel, Shaved or milled head and a modded shiftstar. Lightened flywheel, you're pretty clear on. Milled head raises your compression. Ask Boonman what is best for you. More compression will give you a bit better low end. He can tell you based on your elevation and needs. If you plan on running pump premium gas, he'll probably tell you to shave .020 to .030, depending on your elevation. Modded shiftstar is really great. On the clutch side of the tranny, there is a little piece of metal that looks like a small sprocket or chinese throwing start. He machines this star to help the banshee shift better under full engine load (max RPMs) and makes it much easier to find Nuetral. Something all shees can use. Boon is a great guy...and will work with you 100%. He really went the extra mile in helping me out...and I have no reservation about recommending him to anyone.
