bigboybanshee
If you don't have any porting plans in the near future, then stick with the TR-6's unless you got money to burn. 382026 That's what I would do... It just makes the most sense to me; take the money you'd spend on the pipes and get a Noss head and reeds, then if you have more money to spend, work on the suspension. dajogejr
Don't hate me Rocket fans...but... I just demo'd the Rockets. My motor is bone stock, as in never been cracked open. They slowed me down over my T5s. However...Ray is such a great guy...I'm hoping (read...budget) to let Jeff @ FAST port my shit and weld my crank, on top of milling the head, and try them out again. I race my buddy on his 450R all day long...and, it's a close race, usually I hand it to him. However, even if he gets me out of the hole, I can catch up and pass him 3rd - 4th gear. On my demo day...I had my bike widing out 6th gear, and he was catching me...(I hole shot the shit out of him...)... Never, ever happened before... So...I was going to go with the T6. But...I fully planned on porting my shee from teh day I picked it up...did my research, and got my T5s. I've very please with them...especially after the boon tune!!! Fireman-hott
Man, every single dyno will show T-5 under the rockets the more you mod the more they run away. The Rockets will more than shine with porting, but you really need to have the cylinders ported to match the pipes you buy. Port for the rockets and that 450 wont stand a chance. The fact that you stick with 450's with just a pipe and reed says wonders about the possibility of the pipe with more modding.
applpro
Pretty friggin simple to figure it out if they have a wider power band that comes on earlier and has pretty good top end and the pipes are more suited to making power on a stock motor than rockets. odaen
if you're gonna keep the cylinders non-ported, stick with your T6's. if you get your cylinders ported, your builder will most likely ask you what type of riding you do and port to your specs and have a pipe that will work best with the application. Rockets seem to popular here on HQ, but I've yet to see a banshee run them in Oregon, and believe me there are a ton of banshees here. I would like to get a set to dyno on my bike, because I'm curious. Personally, I have T5's and CPI's and I'm very pleased with them.

RNBRAD
Pretty friggin simple to figure it out if they have a wider power band that comes on earlier and has pretty good top end and the pipes are more suited to making power on a stock motor than rockets. I would classify a pipe with a powerband that is more useable in most situations on a stock motor as a better all around pipe for most people. Parden the pun, but its not rocket science! May be I should erase my oiriginal post, eat some paste, lick some short bus windows and just say, duhhh errrr durrr... Rockets all the way man! Oh, look at the shit stir. Umkay, Now with that said, I will now contradict myself and say that I thought Rocekets were pretty good on a stock motor. Not as good all around as my FMF's but I mainly like the banshee for the thrill of the top end power and speed so I was willing to trade bottom end for as good of top end as I could get. Iif you plan to get some porting in the near future and your TR-6's still look new, it may be a good time to e-bay them, get more money out of them now to put towards Rockets. That's what I did with my FMF's. If you don't have any porting plans in the near future, then stick with the TR-6's unless you got money to burn. 382026 Well said, it's just that one pipe isn't designed to perform better than anything else at any state of engine tune. Just not possible, you would need an almost infinitley adjustable pipe. So many different pipes equal so many different power curves on so many different motors. The hard part is finding the set-up that compliments the how, where, why's of your riding and most of all what makes you happy.
