Bansheeman1121
Im not gonna make up some shit and say ive ever riddin a bike with toomeys becuase i havnt. I run fmf fattys with toomey silencers. My bike hits really hard mid range but still has good low end, The fattys pull just as hard in 6th gear as they do in 3rd that what i like about them, they can get you up a trail but they will rocket you forward on pavment, I run even higher gearing on my bike with no port work and the fattys handle i great with tons of top end. The only complaint i can think of is the fattys sign off pretty quickly, there not like the rev limiing stock pipes but they do sign off fairly quick. sredish
The T5's perform better with internal mods, porting, stroking, etc. On a stock bike, the SST's will be smoother, come on a little earlier and have a bit more low end torque. The T5's will probably hit harder, and be a tad bit stronger on top if you can keep it in the power. Tough choice, and it's yours to make. dajogejr
Well...I reread his opening statement. 2 out of his three preferred riding conditions would require top end. Open roads and duning. Based on that...we all agree the T5 has more top end....so, it seems pretty clear.... However, it all depends if he's gonna ride more trails then the other two. You definately want the revs for open roads and dunes. I"m tellin ya....with a lightented flywheel and +4...you smooth out that T5 and still have all those good revs... watkins
Thanks for all the input! I actually went with the SST's, If i decide to do some engine mods then I will gets some T-5's then. Thanks again for all the great responses.
watkins
Will mods like +4 Timing & Lightened Flywheel do any good with the SST Pipes? Or when you say stock motor mods do you mean like just port work?
dajogejr
+4 and lightened flywheel will do good with just about any mods. If it revs out too quick for you...you can always drop a pair of teeth in the rear or jump up one in the front. I just got me rockets on...so, gonna have to see how they react with those... twin2smoker
I love my T-5's , they out perform my friends sst's and they sound better too, well atleast mine do.
dajogejr
I like the Rockets so far...but, I literally only rode about 10 minutes on 'em yesterday. Full day test Sunday... I do love the sound of my Toomey's...for sure.
RIPPEN
The pro circuits are better than FMF hands down. Just ask most engine builders. 376628 I have heard the same, the pc's seem to perform closer to the T-5s. I have a couple friends that run the pc's and they run well. However I would still have to say the T-5s are my pipe of choice. RIPPEN
Fireman-hott
Let me know how those rockets work for you dajo. If you plan on porting and modding and get rid of the SST, switch up to Rockets. More power than the T-5s.
dajogejr
I have the T5s now...I have the loaner Rockets on now. I like the power. I have to ride for a day to see if I can stand the ergos of them... Will know tomorrow.... I'm going with Porting...gonna have Jeff @ FAST do it...when I feel like tearing it down for a month or so...

More power than the T-5s. 377645 Slowed me down...to be honest. I told Ray I might try them again after I get a fresh top end and porting done. He's one cool ass dude...nice as can be. Also...those Rockets look killer. But, there are three negatives on them I did not get used to...although I did only ride with them for one day. 1. Plug access...difficult. 2. BIG...kept hitting my legs. Felt like I left me kickstarter out, on BOTH sides 3. Fuel...forget about turning your gas off, unless you have a screwdriver or pliers. 1 and 3 didn't bother me as much...2 really bothered me. I move my fat ass around alot...and I felt cramped... However...if all I did was drag, these would probably be my choice. Jeff said Shearer or CPI might be a better pipe to take full advantage of his porting. I MIGHT try the Shearers...Jim has them pretty cheap. I'll see how my T5s work first, they're such a great all around pipe, I'd hate to 86 'em..... Animalman294
I like my t-5's they, pull all the way through the gears and they sound pretty sweet too. Mine came with the bike when I bought it, but I have been really happy with them. My dad has the fatty's and I eat him alive, but then again he's dad and I ride balls out and he just rides . I haven't ridden his bike though (afraid something will break). I think he plans it that way, just when something is about to break he loans it to me, then I feel guilty and have to fix it for him . Well I vote for the t-5's, but I guess watkins went with the SST's, so just my 02.
