2006 models ?

Screw that 500 in a shee....you can come and start that beast for me... :D

 

I like the screaming twin...long live it!!

 

I met up with a guy on a 500LT this weekend, first thing I asked him was how you like starting that beast.  Then he showed me the hole in his riding boot.  No, not work boot...RIDING boot.

 

I just had to laugh....

 

That being said...he handed it to me a few times.  Granted, he had paddles and I have XCRS...it was still pretty fast!!

You say the yfz will be totaly different?? i dont think thats gonna happen, i mean look at all the other yamaha models..? what have they changed?? Lights? Plastics? i dont know, but i cant wait for them to put the new pics up on the site and start shippin them to my dealership! :headbang: and for the EFI, that'd be bad ass, but just like you all said, think of the maintanance.. :shootself:

im going guess the yf z450 will be a true 450cc for 06 and if mother yamaha decides to up the rapterd to 700, big deal if 660cc is a overweight slug then 700 will be too! <_< thers alot of mystery of the banshee for 06 and i think it would be really cool if all of a sudden for 06 they said f%ck itfor 06 lets just base the motor off of a 4 cylinder rz500 instead of the old rz350 version. not likely :angry: ,i think eventually the ama will up the displacment till one da y your gonna go to the track and see 1000+cc mx bikes zipping around . :bolt:

2 stroeks will come back again once the tree huggers see that the bad ozone problem still sucks donkey nutz after several years of no harmful dangerous 2 strokes being produced

:cry: oh well id rather it go down as a screamin legend and be worth more value in 5 years and still kick major ass compared to the new 4 chokes :headbang:

Hey guys, i was just reading a new dirt wheels mag and there was a article in it where they put a 700 in a raptor and it was smokin everything! But of course it was also piped and modded out. There competiton was a stock banshee and a stock 450. I would have liked to see it against some of the banshees of banshee hq :evil:

A stock 450 will beat a stock banshee. Pipe them both, and the shee will beat the 450. However...on a track, the 450 will blow by and rip the fenders off the shee.

 

All the tree huggers are up in arms about two strokes. I hope the above post is right...once 5 or 6 years go by, and they see there is NO difference...they come back.

 

They're not going to stop making competition 2 strokes...a la the dirt bikes...so, I don't see the point.

 

Don't get me wrong. I think all this development of 4 strokes is a good thing. Competition always is. But, once the two stroke is gone...I hope they don't stop making them better...

yep 2006 is the final year of the banshee from what i was told by motoworld :cry: but look on the bright side..parts will be more expencive and the re sale value will sky rocket.and 2 stroke oil is going to cost an arm and a leg soon..see the hell these 4crokes are putting us through

don't get me wrong guys, i love my shee and the rip of a two stroke. but i think the 4 stroke is the way of the future. 4choke, 4croke, whatever, they are mounting to be some hellish competition. if they're so bad, how come a new stock yfz450 will take a new stock banshee? i'll bet the new 700craptor will take the banshee as well. the transition from 2 to 4 is being smoothed over with some powerful and quick 4 strokes along with better suspension and handling, that in time, will leave the 2 strokes behind, literally. i was told that in the futue 2 stroke motox bikes will only be available for closed circuit racing, not to the recreational rider. of course used 2 strokes will be around for a long time to come, but like a lot of other things, their time will pass. :confused::angry:

Yep...it's just too bad.

I like riding my buds 450s around the trails, they are awesome wheelie machines...but, they just don't FEEL fast like a banshee does. They are, don't get me wrong...they just don't feel it.

 

I doubt a stock Craptor will beat a stock shee...they're pigs to begin with. Probably be a good race. They are comfy to ride, though....

the problem with the yfz or the trx 450 is comfort..these bikes are now all being designed as track bikes..but lets face it how many of us truly ride mx tracks..????..i like the idea of the bike being built a bit better so you dont have to do as muck to it.but the comfort just isnt there...i like to go on 5-6 hour rides and you just cant do that on the new 450's yamaha or honda..i think they need to make a 450 for the guy who just likes to ride..give it the banshee style seating and i would buy it..after all look at the over all picture the 1986-88 honda fourtrax 250, the honda 250r 3 wheeler and the banshee are the most comfy bikes on the market..and if you look at it the banshee is both of those honda bikes morphed into one bike...if it wasnt for the seating style of the 450's i would own one, but untill they get the seating and comfort of a banshee im not even going to think of buying one.
