joker149999
when you put new throttle cables on so you can get rid of the override on the carb s i was told you have too have the carbs machined out too put new idle adjuster screw's in or the bike won't run right once you get rid of the electroinc override bull shit, is that true? or can you just run the new cables and get rid of the electronic bull shit and not have too change the idler adjustment screws? JA66
Theres already a spot for the idle screw but it doesnt go all the way through, so you have to finish drilling it (dont think its very far) then tap it, and put the idle screws in. I think you pretty much have to do that, i guess you could just mess with all the cable adjustments for the idle but that probably wouldnt be a good idea because they could move or a cable could slip and the carb would completely close off. joker149999
So do you take out the old idle adjument screws then? or is there a different spot you have too put the new screw's? do you know what size drill bit and tap you need for these adjument screws? mybadbanshee
the tors removal kit should come with a drill bit.the screws that are already in the carbs are NOT idle screws.the idle adjustment is on top of the tors system that you are eliminating.it is a real easy project,it only took me an hour or so from start to finish.VITOS sells a real good kit for about 50 bucks. mybadbanshee
the existing screws you are talking about in the carbs are air/fuel screws.do NOT take them out.
joker149999
Well what size drill bit do you need and tap? to drill and tap the idle screw holes out? does anyone know? also do you even have too change them screws?
dajogejr
Buy the kit. Motion pro, Toomey and Vitos all sell them. It comes with two brass bullet nosed screws, the correct drill bit AND tap. You're NOT changing any screws. You're simply finishing out a hold that needs to be all the way clear, on the outside of each carb. As said, it's an hour or so project start to finish. Here is Toomey's link to instructions, but...no pics. http://www.toomey.com/html/ik_install.htm Or...check here. About 1/4 way down, you can see the idle kit for a shee. It's 24.95. Comes with all you need. http://www.vitosperformance.net/BANSHEE.HTM
joker149999
I went to the website for the idler adj. screw's by toomie and it say's you need a number 6 drill bit, that would be a 1/4 inch bit correct?
dajogejr
Dunno...Might want to call a machine shop or hit the local hardware store. I bought the kit to ease my worries
