smartsshee22
I just sent my motor to Trinity to get built. I am getting the 400cc ported Cheetah kit done. I will be running 35mm Keihin carbs, Dyna FS ignition V-Force 3 cages, and their clutch kit. I was having a debate on which pipes to run. I want to run the T-5's but I hear that they will restrict flow to the Cheetah motor compared to the Trinity Stage IV pipes. Any thoughts on the matter? Thanks, Ken
locogato11283
if you are running a motor like that you need to step up to a drag pipe. i would suggest rockets, cpi or shearer. any of them will make more power and compliment your setup better than t5's or trinity pipes. what does trinity suggest you run?? smartsshee22
Trinity suggests running their pipes of course. I am not sure about the drag pipes. I want to keep it dunable also.

smartsshee22
HMMM...I have just been doing some research on them. How is the access to the plugs and fuel shutoff? Looks tight. I guess that does not matter though. That is a pretty good looking pipe setup. What is the price tag on those? Thanks for all your help. I want the most out of this new motor. I had the DMC Aliens on the old motor setup. Those are for the birds now that this new one is getting built!! cjm02ram
on a drag setup the 2 best pipes are gonna be shearers or Cpis's. Would go with anything less if your gonna be dragging

wesw
i have sheets saying shearers made 8hp more than rockets will post them when i get the bike next weekend if you doubt me call 3162628900 ask for kevin helt ask him about my dyno

smartsshee22
Hey Hey now. I did not mean for this post to cause so much tension in here...I am not setting this Shee up for Drag only, I am making it an all around duner, hillclimber and drag Shee all together. I think that I am starting to lean more towards the Rockets now more than the T-5's or Trinity Stage IV. Loco, you know who sells the Rockets and what they run? Thanks again everyone. noob41
if you want the most out of your cheetah cylinders get shearers. they make more power than cpi's and way more than rockets. this is on cheetah motors. I know rockets have outperformed cpis on a stock cylinder banshee, but the rockets cannot hang shearer or cpi on a cheetah cylinder. you will not be getting the most out of your $2000 cheetah with rockets. for those running rockets on your cheetahs, put a set of shearer's on and then go to the dyno. also to get unbiased information on how to get the most out of a cheetah please go to planetsand.com those people over there are the experts on cheetahs and the maker of the cheetah is a mod over there and you can PM him and he even replies. shearer chrome are $450 while rockets and cpi's are $550 Edited May 22, 2005 by noob41
PassionRE
Rockets, CPI's and Sheerer pipes are all fine pipes. Each of these pipes will react differently on different port styles but Sheerers tend to perform best on high end high rpm port designs from what Ive seen....they simply just pull alot further with nearly the same low-mid characteristics on my upper mid to high rpm engine designs. If your Cheetah is set up for upper mid to high range power preference, Sheerer all the way. PM me if you need a set, $450.00 chrome with silencers.....Jim
smartsshee22
Awesome thanks Jim. I am still getting the motor built so I am not sure what kind of port it is going to have. I will call Trinity Mon and get the details. Thanks for the help. Ken
rocketboy
whatever you decide dont let those hacks at trinity try to tell you that thier pipe is the best for your application, if i called them right now and asked them what pipe was best for woods riding ,theyd assure me its theirs ,same with any style port or riding terrain preferece, its always their trinity stage 7 pipe or wtf ever they call them now.theres no such pipe that works for every thing or every motors exhaust timing . im eager to see the shearer vs rocket dyno chart.we havent had much chance to see this yet on HQ ,i dont even care if rockets lose ,i think it would be interesting to see how they make thier power and were in the rpm IMO
bkabina
If your going all out drag and want the best pipe go with the GRR suicide pipes.
