sredish
Someone just told me they heard a rumor that 400ex hubs will fit on banshee axle splines. This would be very very interesting to find out because they're the same bolt pattern as my honda, so, I'd be able to swap my Honda wheels/tires back and forth between my banshee and Honda. I don't have any wheels for the banshee as I sold my only set of beadlocks. I was going to put the stock tires on banshee wheels, but if the 400ex hubs work, then I can just use the stock rear wheel/tire from the Honda on a reg. basis. What you all think? Drafter
The 400ex/300ex hubs fit the spindles for sure... I swap tires w/hubs all the time between 400ex/banshees and warrior.

I'm wondering if they changed them some this past year when they changed the body style, because the newer 400ex has the same part number as the 450r, which I have. Guess I could always just pull a hub off the 450r and see....
Drafter
I have swapped hubs w/wheels off a 02 400ex and a 96 300ex to my warrior 95 and both banshees 87/98. A buddy of mine said this past weekend he swapped hubs/wheels off an 05 trx450 to his 400ex so they should swap as well to the yamaha. sj820
I dont think that works unless the splines on either the 400ex hubs or yamaha axles are really worn! Not 100% sure but I know I have tried in the past as well as a number of other people! I tried putting 250x hubs on a Warrior when I was a kid and if I recall correctly they didn't fit! Then when I was a little older say 4-5 years ago one of my friends asked if he could try putting 400ex hubs on his Banshee and it didn't work! Too many years in between trying thats why you have to try every couple of years! You never know maybe this time they will fit!
sredish
The 450r hubs did NOT fit. Now, according to Service Honda, there's two different part numbers for ex hubs. An older one and then a newer one from a year or two ago. Now, I also think the newer part number is the same as the 450r part number, but I need to go check. I was really hoping it'd work. sj820
That would be interesting if Honda switched to a Yamaha spline pattern! Please keep us informed as to whether or not there are newer Rear Hubs for the Hondas that fit Yamaha splines! Maybe Honda realizes that Yamaha has the biggest niche now in the sport quad industry and conformed to Yamaha's ways instead of the the industry trying to follow Honda! Its crazy to see the changes in the big bike corporations these days! One must ask themselves why didn't some of these bikes like the 450s come out 10 years ago? I swear the Honda 250r was the doom of the sport ATV industry back in the 90's! It was such a good bike that development on all other bikes went dead for almost 15 years!!!! The street bike industry has enjoyed unparalleled advances in technology while the atv industry has been stuck in the dark ages!!!! I am surprised that we have hydraulic brakes on ATV's for christ sakes! Well the atv industry seems to have come around and lets hope that she keeps on truckin! Just a little venting today!!! Hi there Guys: I know this is a really, really old thread, but here it goes: Yamaha nor honda changed splines to fit another. Honda's 83-84 ATC 250R, ATC 200X, 250EX, 300EX, 400EX and 450R will all fit the Banshees, Blasters and 660's. That said All the TRX's hubs will add 2.5" to your Yammie rides. And yes the 250EX, 300EX, 400EX and 450R are all the same rear hub and part #. These are all 24 spline rear hubs. Some other Honda's use 25 splines, like 85-89 Honda ATC's and TRX R's. Also, and very important, the hub should be an old one so it's got a bit wear on it, that's the only way it will fit without having to hammer on it too much. The hubs are design to wear first than the splines on your axles, so finding some with a bit of wear is not a problem. By the way Hondas are 4X110mm wheel pattern (most of the ones talked about here anyway). Just thought I clear this for you guys. Don't ask me how I know. Been around since before banshees and quads in general were new. And yes, this is my 1st post. TORKER.
