Slammin Full Bore
well guys in some cases i agree, some disagree...I'f you are riding with another person in a car, I feel that "its only affecting me" isn't true at all for a few reasons, such as 1) your friend can get a ticket for you not wearing one, and 2) its a rare occasion, but does happen...if you get in an accident and arent wearing a seatbelt, your body can become a flying object which can strike the other persons in the car..but once again, this is pretty rare... 371196 honestly i dont care how many idiots die from not wearing their seat belt, i do care about my tax money. Im already paying for illegal immigrants health care, why not just pay for every other moron who doesnt wear a belt, goes to ICU and doesnt have insurance. Wow I dont know about you guys but i think that money could be better spent.........maybe like on 1 new cruise missile or something. but seriously it does cost us alot of money, and most people are always complaining about taxes so why would you want to pay more. Wallrat
Um...doesn't affect other people? Apparently where you guys are from they don't close the freeway (or at least several lanes) everytime there's a fatality. That shit pisses me off to no end! Oh and I love that argument about being ejected saved your ass. Seatbelts aren't a damn holy grail. Its still possible to die/get injured even when you have one on. For every one person that gets ejected and walks away there's probably 2000 that got killed. I dunno if you guys gamble but...d'ems shit odds! frocashmoney24
never said they were a holy grail, i said it saves way more lives then it takes, but i have more faith in airbags then seatbelts.
PUSH THE THROTTLE
So if they are really saving us money then we should start ticketing smokers too. Smoking costs tax payers a lot of money with all this lung cancer research, medical costs, and government time. You might say that smokers have to pay for it through their taxes well drivers pay insurance, sales tax, gas tax, license and titling fees. ondeeeznuts
whats really shitty is around here they are pulling people over that they say "didn't see them with a belt on" to try and get them for other things. I think it should be your choice to wear it or not to wear it, its your f*cking life anyways, no one should be able to tell you how to live it! tats4life
I think with my truck you can enter the up,up, down, down, A, B, B, A with your lightswitch or something. Check your owners manual. 371087 i thought that only worked with NES systems........but i'll take a look

loganskinner
i dont know about it. im an EMT, and ive seen what seatbelts can do to people. i mean, yes they can save a life, but ive seen wrecks where someone has died or been pinned in a car for hours, just to die because they cant get them free just because of the seatbelt. i wear mine alot, but when i dont, i am making the concious decison not to wear mine because of what i see every day. in slower speed wrecks (under 40mph) seatbelts do a great job, but above that speed is where the people start getting hurt or killed by the damn thing yanking them back into the seat. when its your time to go, its your time to go, and a seatbelt cant save you if your number is up. RNBRAD
first of all, it costs the states waaaay more to have people in accidents without their seatbelts every year than they get from writing tickest for infractions. the whole its my body and my choice thing doesnt stand up, because it effects waay more people than just yourself when youre in an accident, even if its just you in the accident. have you ever come upon an accident where someone wasnt wearing their seatbelt and seen someones head split open, brains hanging out? that effects you for life. not to mention the hospital bills that taxpayers pay for people who cant afford the care they require. and they also have child seat laws, do you have a proble with those? after all, its your kid, should be your choice right? and finally, i dont understand why you wouldnt buckle up everytime you get in a vehicle. if you dont have enough respect for yourself, then at least have respect for the people that love and care about you. how would your mother, father and brother feel if you were killed in an accident, and could have been saved if you were just wearing your seatbelt? do you ride your bikes without a helmet ever? its the same idea. i think there should be helmet laws too. not everything is a big government conspiracy, just cause you dont like the rules. i think public safety is important, every life is worth the time it takes to pull you over and check things out. 371037 Well said. It's exactly that bar none, it's about medical costs, motor vehicle insurance and health insurance, plain and simple, It affects all of us. tithead
its the law over here to wear a seat belt. i always wear mine, its the first thing i do when i get in a vehicle, due to a bad crash i had a few years back with my dad driving. if you are stopped by the feds and you havent got your belt on, youv got a fine. if you and your buddy are in the car and your buddy doesnt have his belt on, the driver gets a fine. if you have a full car load and one person out of 5 doesnt have there belt on, the driver gets a fine. its the same for all vehicles. im not to sure what the amount of the fine you get is but its more than enough. safety laws over here are tight for road users over here. even though you have air bags etc in your vehicle, you MUST wear your belt. blk02banshee
I know people who have been saved by seatbelts, and people that have been saved by NOT wearing one. I think they hurt more than they save. If all cars had 5 point harnesses, I'd wear it.
