justinklumb29
Iam currently putting the shee back together. I got a gorr woods port, boysen power reeds, lightenend flywheel, milled head, modded shift star (complete boon tune) and i was wondering which pipe would run better fmf fattys or pt mids. I ride mostly trails, but do some ocassinal draging

bigboybanshee
Fattys all the way. PT mids have real good low-mid but nothing else past that. (Basically what they were designed for) If you run the PT's you'll need to gear it pretty tall to really feel the pull they have, otherwise you'd be shifting every few seconds. I'd recommend the Fattys simply because I hear they have a solid all around pull, and wouldn't limit you to strictly low-mid range. Just my measly .

I loved them in the woods/trails, low/mid is incredible with the Gorr port, but I still wanted the top end of T5's and they don't have that, of course. They just fell off a little earlier. If you ride it and shift properly, you can easily run a front sprocket higher with the PT's and have gearing on your side, and they're super easy to ride and extremely smooth. But with me, it was all about the top end, funny how that works. You build it to make the most lowend you can, and then when you have it, you bitch. That's why I went to the thumper, incredible low end and awesome top end. Just FYI, I spanked several different shee's with my Gorr port and PT's in some straight drags. One was a ported Pro Circuit bike, the other was a Toomey bike and several others. There was one bike that was pretty even with me, funny thing is he had a Duncan port and PT's. But, it's all in the shifting. If you wait too long to shift, it falls of a little, you just have to think "lug it", cause that's what the PT's like. I'm not going to lie, Fatties are great pipes also. They don't quite have as smooth of a powerband and it doesn't quite come on so soon, but they'll rev past the PT's on the top end. It always boils down to riding style and what your looking for.

dajogejr
Got the boon tune meself, minus the milled head (coming soon...$$) Love my T5s now... I also put a stator timing bracket on...good 35 spent there. Now, I'm going to go to a 15 tooth front, and be done for a while. Can't go wrong with the T5's... But, I'm going to one day test out the Rockets...and I can't wait to see what they do...
