endofitall9 Posted May 14, 2005 Report Share Posted May 14, 2005 heres the deal I been coming up from a rebuild, when i got to the clutch last night i was noticing clymer has a picture of a spacer that goes in between the clutch boss and the clutch basket I kept everything together in my clutch just slid it all off, but when i was puting it back together i noticed that i didnt have one but i have 2 spacers niether of which looks like they go on there ,they both have play on the shaft, does anyone know what im talking about and or have a pic, or can tell me where to get one? I'll take a pic of what's behind there if you still need it tomorrow. I think what you're talking about that you have are 'thrust plates'. ... The order of removal in my 'Yamaha Service Manual' is: Remove: - Clutch boss - Thrust plate - Clutch housing - Spacer - Thrust plate Hope that helps. Edit: From the pic in this manual, the thrust plates look like washers and the spacer is quite a substantial piece of steel. ... 1" - 1 1/2 maybe. Rare. One goes behind the clutch basket and the other one goes on after the basket before the inner clutch boss/hub. I have some if you need one shoot me a pm! P.S.
