87sheerips
OK, i was lookin at some prices today and I want some skat traks 10's (straight paddle) but was told they are only good for going stright really, not so much toolin around on the dunes. I was told to get ITP sand stars. What paddle would suit me best for the mods listed on my signature?? I like draggin, but I also like thowin some roost off the top!! thanks OHH yea, will someone hook me up with a signature pic, i think im the only one without one! ScrewMachine
I have run Skat Trak's "The Edge" for years and been very happy with 'em. Just like any other Skat Trak tire, you can custom order nearly any size/paddle combo you want. Still pull fairly well in a straight line (not as good as a Hauler...) yet still allow ya to carve the sand up pretty good. My old bike was set-up fairly close to the same as yours. Try a 22X11X10 10-paddle Edge. Oh, and I'd avoid the Sand Stars....shitty tire from my experience. JMHO Good luck
Justintoxicated
8 paddle extreme haulers work great in the dunes. I run a set. 10 is a bit much paddle for a 350 and would only benefit off the line in a drag. But yea it would kinda suck for the dunes, especialy if you got the Bigger ones. ssanddemon
Stay away from the 10 paddles unless you have a hot motor and long swingarm.- you'll have way too much tire. Remember: in the sand, wheelspin is our friend. You want enough to be able to get the back hooked up at the higher rpms, but not so much that you are hooked up all the time, or you'll end up with a very boggy-feeling bike. I have 9 paddle haulers and they are a bit much. If I was going to keep the factory length arm, I would want some 8s. And the straight paddles steer just fine. I ran with the factory knobbies on the front for a couple of years with haulers and never had any problem hooking up the fronts. With my trackers on the front, it maybe steers too well- It'll hook and throw you off if you get too crazy.
Klotzban1
I ran Sand Skate 2 and could'nt hook up as quick on my march trip to LS, this caused me to get spanked by a 450r.....LOL. Once going I lessened the gap between his bike and mine. I needed hook up from the line. A friend of mine IMAFMF ran Haulers and totally tore the 450r rider a new bore size on the drags. His Haulers didn't hurt him at all in the trails. I'm ordering HAULERS in 8 paddle for our next trip!!
87sheerips
you dont think 22's are too big???
ssanddemon
22x8x10 are a drag /hillshooting tire, and they soak up bumps better, but don't steer or handle as well. 20x10x10 are more like general useage, since you can throw the back end around more. The 20s don't have as much sidewall give and have a smaller contact patch than the 22s- all of which are why I run 20s.
locogato11283
i run extreme haulers 20x10x10 9 paddle. they hookes so hard at LS but still allowed me to get out of the hole. i didnt notice any drag on the top end either.

I've never had problems with 8 paddle haulers duning and draggin on a 350... im gonna move up after the rebuild... maybe to 9's or 10's.. Haulers are the best way to go... dont ever get sand stars...man i never felt so much lost power in my life... Eric
Leadfoot350
Tire sizes have a huge effect on traction. 22-11-8 tires have something like twice the amount of traction as a 20-10-10 tire. If you have an extended swing arm 22-11-8 tires are great and if you have stock length swing arm then 20-10-10's are ok. The 22's also require you to lean more when turning. If you drag and dune then you might want to get 21in tires on 8inch rims. The number of paddles is detremined to the amount of hp you have and how much you weigh. Ask skat trak about this an see what they say. I would only get skat trak also because they weight a lot less which is more hp.
jjfizzle51
for your mods i would say the hauler 8 paddle or even 9 but 8 would be for shore 9 maybey they are a little harder to turn but you wont notic that much ive had both

Lepew
I like a 20-10-10 9 paddle for trail ride/hill shooting duning. From your mods your running a tall gear for the dunes you might rethink what your going to do. Tire height and gearing go together. Go with a 14th sprocket and you'll pull a 9 paddle just fine. A 20-10-10 tire will still give you the straight pull and it will slide as good as the v paddles. Just imagine hammering in to the turn slide her a bit then lay in to it and slide back as she pulls the front tires up and shoots out straight screaming!!! Fu-- I think I just jizzed on myself. BdBanshee
I run 20x10x10 10 paddle haulers and I think they Rock! Anything less and I can't get out of the hole at all. Tried a brand new set of 20x10x10 12 paddle haulers a friend of mine got for xmas and they were awesome for draggin, but I felt like they hooked up a little too much during duning and trails. If all I did was drag I would go with more paddles, but for all around duning the 10 paddles work great for me.
Leadfoot350
I think you will do good with those 21-12-8 tires. Get the thinest lightest set of dougles rims. They will not bend if you have good tire pressure. I think 9 paddle tires will be good for you.
