bigscary Posted April 26, 2005 Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 (edited) I was at the dunes saturday going from 3rd to fourth........I think I probably over reved a bit......mainly because I couldn't get it out of third gear......here are some pics.....please help me figure out what is wrong....... the right piston is fucked and so is the dome......but the left side looks great........ crank and rods feel tight and rods appear to be straight.... what the hell happened here...? wayfst Posted April 26, 2005 Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 looks like your piston fell in to your exhaust port. burn downs due to timing or lack of fuel show on the intake side of the piston. this looks like it caught and broke the edge, then the pieces just bounced around on top. there may have been some that went down the side, i would pull your crank and check. sorry dude Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would check exhaust port for snags. What pistons did you run? Also, if you know for sure the jetting was on... I would say there was an airleak on the right side intake tract due to the bright white on the piston itself-> x-lean. Usually severe detonation causes a hole in the top of the piston, but to be safe what octane in the sunoco? 220lbs is a hell of a lot of compression, You need @ least 110. I would also drop the timing down to +4, I mean come on, you already got cheetah's.. quit trying to be greedy... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
