I was at the dunes saturday going from 3rd to fourth........I think I probably over reved a bit......mainly because I couldn't get it out of third gear......here are some pics.....please help me figure out what is wrong.......

 

the right piston is fucked and so is the dome......but the left side looks

great........

 

crank and rods feel tight and rods appear to be straight....

what the hell happened here...?

Use race fuel!!!

or ur 2 lean and it blew up when u starved it 4 gas! (like if u were hall'n ASS in 6th gear 4 a ling time, and coasted till a stop whith the engine on.)

It looks like your c- clip to your rispin was'nt seated in all the way. I know, it happen to me. Looks like the same thing.

looks like your piston fell in to your exhaust port. burn downs due to timing or lack of fuel show on the intake side of the piston. this looks like it caught and broke the edge, then the pieces just bounced around on top. there may have been some that went down the side, i would pull your crank and check. :( sorry dude

Looks like you snagged an exhaust port.  Check the edges of the exhaust port, is it chamfered?

Indeed.. I would check exhaust port for snags. What pistons did you run? Also, if you know for sure the jetting was on... I would say there was an airleak on the right side intake tract due to the bright white on the piston itself-> x-lean. Usually severe detonation causes a hole in the top of the piston, but to be safe what octane in the sunoco? 220lbs is a hell of a lot of compression, You need @ least 110. I would also drop the timing down to +4, I mean come on, you already got cheetah's.. quit trying to be greedy... :P
