Iam very much considering buying a set up these pipes. However I can not find any used ones and i would have to fork out around 500 to get a set of new ones. Are they worth it. Are they that much better that fatties or t-5's or pt mids. Iam talking about the ones where the silencers come together in the middle

they sound beyond wicked, nothing sounds like them.

they can be a hard fit around the back of the bike but they fit.

 

the only bitch is the rubber mounting system they use is junk its glued on to the silencer to the bracket, they might have updated them by now but his are broke and bailing wired to hold it up.

 

he is going to take the silencer apart and runa bolt thru it and some belting from a rock quarry to mount them better.

 

great all around pipes. he has a mean port and it pulls good thru the whole rpm range

from the dynos i seen the power falls off a little later than pt mids. i think the dmc's can be compared to pt mids, a low end trail/mx pipe. im not sure torque wise, im assuming pt mids would have more. i would get the the dmc's over pt mids because they are cheaper make almost the same power. i found some for 288 new, pipes only, plated. Im not sure if u can run them with stock silencers but i would since your not looking to spend 500, and maybe get the 2 into 1 silencer later. email DMC about it. here's a link to the website, has alot of hp info on pipes, but the only thing its missing is torque. btw i've seen a 2 into 1 silencer for dmc's on ebay going for 130, maybe u could buy the pipes and that, save u a few bucks.

That's what my opinion is also even though I've never run pt mids the reviews that I've read over the years were that they are very similar. I got the 916's over the pt mids because of price, I figured for the extra $400 pt mids weren't worth it. Plus the pipes on the DMC's look better to me.
