MILO
i didn't want to buy a used one because i know how everyone tries to make mod's to them, but how many really know what they are doing, i didn't want to have to solve someone else's problems out of my pocket. i'd rather start from scratch too with a new one and make it my own. anything and everything that is worn out or replaced or modified, i know how and why it was done. otherwise, i'd always be a little leary about what's gonna go wrong next. i know exactly what condition my shee is in and how it got there, and i know i can depend on it. NYUK
it`s a shame what used banshees are going for lately.i ve had at least 35 to 40 banshees in a year and never paid more than 2,200. no matter what year.your bike is worth 3,500 in parts. take it from me everything sells.every nut and bolt. DuneRoller
Where are you guys located? Just curious because here in So Cal it seems that even most mid 90's Banshees will sell for $3500 or more.

rjvoight
Location is huge. However, if you do not need to sell it right away, I would just clean it up and hold onto it for a couple years. When Yamaha finally drops the axe on the Banshee, you will see the used price stabilize and probabally go up a little. RJV
.
If I ever bought another banshee to keep.....I'd just basically look for one with the most aftermarket (money potential) and for the cheapest price possible. If you dont like what is done to it....at least its aftermarket.....strip it down to the frame.....sell what you dont want....and buy what you want with it.... You'll be way ahead of the game in the long run.
wodeman
Ditto about location, I just about freak when I see the prices from the midwest to the east. My son and I bought a used Banshee, that needed LOTS of work and the lowest one we found that ran good was $2500! I live in WA state and it must be the west coast thing with the dunes (Oregon to California) because when we were shopping, 87 and 88s were going for $3500! I wouldnt ask for under $4000 for our now if I had to sell it!
