Also, i've never removed a swinger. Done about everything else, but never a swinger.

Can i remove it with the tires/axle still on?

And is there any bearings i have to replace when i remove it?

The width at the pivot is 8 and 7/8 inches

You can remove the swinger with the axles and tires and stuff still in it, but why???

You will need to remove the big pivot bolt, the dogbone bolt that bolts to the frame, brake caliper, shock.

If you are going to the trouble of removing the swinger, its probably a good time to take a look at your pivot bearings and tube. If theyre loose or gritty looking, replace them.

Good Luck... :headbang:

That would work too. Why are you taking off your swinger?

Well i have a swingarm off of a 88 Ninja 600, its the same width as mentioned above so i want to see what modifacations it would take to convert it into a 3 wheel setup and make it street legal registered as a trike.

Before i do anything else to legalize it i figure i'll see if i can get this swinger to fit

Holy Cow........ :headbang:

Can you cut the back of the ninja swinger and attach it to the banshee swinger. Then you wouldn't have to fab the mount.

i could, but i want to be able to switch from 4 wheels to 3. All i have to do is take some 3/8th inch flat steel and make 2 3 inch extenders since the shock on the ninja was longer.

We'll see tomorrow, i have alot of work to do
