sredish
This movie is a documentary on the Baja 1000 race. It was a really good movie. I liked it a lot. The movie is a narrative type. The narrarator takes you along from the start to finish of the race and explains the classes, cars and driver/riders. It follows 4 or 5 teams for the most part but gives you insight to a lot of different teams. He explains the history to present-day evolution of the race. There isn't really any coverage of quads, just a few short scenes with them, and if I remember right, it's at the start and finish, not really any action. I really had no idea what to expect, whether they'd be making it a thrill type movie watching the riders in action or a more documentary style, and it was a little of both. Some really good scenes following the riders and teams. I appreciated the feat before, but after watching it that close and seeing so much more of what they go through, especially the bikes and quads, there's no way to not be in awe. They follow Mike McCoy, who raced from start to finish on his XR himself, no other riders. He finished pretty high in the pack as well. To top it off, he finished with broken ribs, a broken finger and a couple other boo boos. How can anyone top that? Or how about the 16 year old from the McMillan family that helped his team finish high in the standings of the buggy class. Maybe JN Roberts can impress you being 60 years old and still hanging in there with the best, a lot tougher than I am for sure. Definitely worth the few bucks it costs to get in. Dust to Glory site.
