fixitrod
Just looking at angle grinders. I have some off brand one and burnt it up really quick, not the motor but the gears. Anyway I don't need the most expensive.. just the most for my money. I've been looking at porter cable because all my other saws and sanders are porter cable. That doesn't mean they make a good angle grinder though. Oh yeah, I've been looking at makita too. Any other brands welcome of course !!! Let me know what you guys that use them a lot think. RNBRAD
I have a Craftsman and a Makita. Both excellent units, maybe not the cheapest but I've been the cheap route before. Cheapest you'll prolly find is a Chicago Electric for around 20-30 dollars from Harbor Freight. Dewalt is another brand that makes excellent grinders. sheefreak
Dewalt is a good brand, but uses plastic gears on their drills, not sure about grinders. You can never go wrong w/Milwakee, but you are gonna pay!
fixitrod
I don't want the cheapest !!! that's for sure. Just want to get some info on others that people aren't have trouble with. I ran 4 wheels through the cheap one in 2 days and it was shot.

sheefreak
Well, I can't say I have any of them, but when I worked in the tool department at Sears(5 yrs), Milwakee was always the most purchased brand by contractors and people who abuse their shit. Wallrat
I've been using my dewalt for about 2.5 years now. Almost daily for the 6 months and its holding up great. The only thing that kinda bugs me about it is the on/off switch is located on the side and I tend to bump it off while grinding. They've already addressed the problem and they now have 2 units, one with the switch on top, the other has a handle with a lock much like an die grinder. Cotton eyed Joe
I have no idea what brand it is, but my dad just picked up a new 4.5 from Home Depot and its a grinding mother fucker. I wish I would have had that when I was first putting that drag frame together. It will for sure see more duty when I get more time. I've been using it to bevel edges of flame cut steel thats hardened from the cutting, and that fucker grinds that shit down so quick its amazing. I just wish I knew what brand it was. About $135 is what he paid for it Im thinking.

01bansheeke
all my work tools are dewalt..milwaukee is also good. i'd say those are your best bets. you will pay for both of them I don't think my angle grinder was too expensive..dont' remember exactly. Good stuff though. I've had it for going on four years now. i don't use it so much anymore, but the first couple years i used the shit out of it. Still going strong. 01bansheeke
i use makita dewalt = high class black & decker 352193[/snapback] not quite..mikita is weak. as are the rest of there power tools. The drill i had from them was a piece of shit. 18 volt..forthe price you'd think it'd be worth a shit. And ti didn't fit in you hand like a drill should..and the battery, i won't go there.Dewalt is about as good as it gets unless you spend a ton of money. high class is correct though. If i remember right, sears actually owns them all..black and decker, craftsman, and dewalt. don't remember though.
