c00t3r
ok first off i want to know what i did wrong with the mods i did, first off i have the stock carbs that have been bored 2mm oversized with k@n clamp ones, i have pc pipes, jetting is 35 pilot and needle in 3rd clip and 340 mains plugs look good, also i have a +2 timmig degree key and the motor has prolites .5mm over no porting! gearing is 15 41 ok my buddy has toomey t5,s and he has v force and i know that it is bored 40 over kn clamp ons. now what i dont know is if he is ported becasue he bought it this way. from what i have said do you guys know why he is beating me on the road? i have a custom nos system but i only use it in the sand i thought that i would be able to take him on motor. but i guess not. from what i said up top is there anything wrong with my set up? and if you could help me out i would greatly appreciate it and also if i want to port my motor who would be the best to do the work? and if the piipes are junk i would like to know that too when i got the bike it had the pc on so i left them what about rockets? would the t5,s make that much difrence against the pc pipes? thanks in advance! andy F.T.R location michigan #

They rev just as far as toomeys ,just not as good chrome.Porting is every thing when it comes to going faster. go back to stock sprocket unless you run 18s on the rear. Ducman
I think its a combo of his lower gearing, Toomys, and v-force all giving a slight advantage. You could possibly be a size or 2 rich on the main wich could drop a couple ponnies and you could go to +4 or 5 on timing. PC pipes are all right, I think the Toomys would be better in a drag through, probably a slight top end advantage. Porting would help you the most. There are many builders to choose from, do some reading on the HQ to learn about the many names out there.
fixitrod
Sounds rich all the way around to me. If you are running nos in the sand maybe you should check your compression. May be time for a rebuild also. Nos can be mean on a motor.

NEVER SATISFIED
call me crazy .. but a 35 pilot is like ... im ported with pods v force pc pipes and i run a 30 pilot on 410 mains... sound a lil rich on the pilot.. im suprised it starts... get some port and you wont need to change those carbs.. im also thinkin along the same lines as gearing too though.. lincster
How much do you weigh and how much does he weigh? Makes a big difference.
sredish
well, the pilot is probably too big, but it isn't going to make or break the top end. Is it starting ok? I'd also say run a compression check and a WOT plug check if you haven't already. If he's ported at all, then he's gonna be making good power as long as he's got it jetted right. fixitrod
It won't make or break the top end but the pilot does run at top end. It can effect it some.
