05bansh
Pipe it and put some K&N pods on it, and you will kill the yfz.

locogato11283
you guys are overlooking alot of things here. rider for one. giving a retard rider a hopped up banshee doesnt mean he will beat everyone. a good rider alot of times can outride someone with more power. i gaurantee i can anyway. second, terrain will play a big part in this. you say 300 feet but in what? pavement is your best chance against a 450. 450 jump out of the hole quick even in loose shit. watch out for them on dirt and sand, not so much in the street. there are alot of things to factor here. in 300 feet you can prolly catch a 450 that jumps you out of the hole unless its got a really good rider. i have a stock 450 and ive walked all over piped and even ported banshees many times. but ive also been riding for 19 years... If you are mainly riding dunes I would get some CPI's or Rockets. They both pull way harder on the top end than the t5's.
waffles
this is a trail ridden banshee and want to have a good topend speed too....which pipes are best for this?
sheeweet
this is a trail ridden banshee and want to have a good topend speed too....which pipes are best for this? 349306[/snapback] I'm thinking DMC Alien 916's
05bansh
For trail I would go with the T5's, Fmf's, Dmc's, Paul turner, something along those lines will do good in the trails.

The honda has a full yoshi exhaust, hot cams stage 2 camshaft, air box lid cut in half with, pro design intake. I can tell you that the honda is no joke. As of now, the Honda will destroy a lot of shees, but when i start to mod the shee heavily, i think it will take the honda no problem. The one thing i love about my honda is torque. Never half to downshift for power. But it lacks in topend where the banshee shines.
buddha440ex
i'd go with the Paul Turner pipes or the Toomey T5's...a good combonation is pro circuit silencers with fmf fatties...you might try that as well...they make good drag power...but they arent anything like cpi's or rockets...as far as beating a yfz...my buddy has one...with me on it i can hand it to him all day long while he is on my banshee..but once i get my shee back i can leave his yfz by a good 3-4 bike lenghts in the long run..in a drag race we are even through the first 3 gears but once mine catches good grip on dirt im gone...prolly the same with anyone else with a banshee...like locogato says the rider makes the bike...im not bragging on myself(he prolly wasnt either) but i know i can ride...i am by far one of the most aggressive riders around here..(where i ride)..but the rider does make the bike..for example..my 440ex..my buddy with the yfz has a circle track(flat track) at his house..me and him are right there side by side throughout the whole track...yet in a drag race he will OWN my 440...but get you a good set of clamp on K&N's and some pipes and it should be a good race..not knowing how good of a rider you are you might want to get used to the banshee before you start going out there and trying to race it thats how most kids get hurt these days...just my .02 cents.. Ducman
Get pipes and some good porting that should give you the advantage. Its pretty tough to beat a piped YFZ with a piped shee. The shee has more overall HP potential, but it is hard to beat the piped YFZ with just bolt-ons. Your best bet is on a surface with good traction and the banshee will walk the yfz on the top end. YFZ top speed is much lower than the shee too, mainly due to not having a 6th gear.
Justintoxicated
if you want to beat a modded YFZ in the sand you are going to need some porting! But then it should not be much of a problem. Edited April 4, 2005 by Justintoxicated
