jmoore
I hope this is the right forum. Anyways, I started up the shee (first kick), warmed her up and then I did a compression test. I had the key and switch off, but I left the gas on. Now it wont start. It is a brand new machine so I know that it is just flooded. I opened up the screws at the bottom of the carbs and let the gas drain out. Tried new plugs but haven't tried anything like starting fluid yet. Do you think it will be fine if I just let her sit overnight? Any tips on starting this girl? thanks
BdBanshee
When they are flooded just hold the throttle wide open and kick it until it starts, then release the throttle and let it idle.

Not for too long though. I figured I was just making things worse.

Then pull choke out and try to start it again. When you kickstart it, you don't have to kick it hard, smooth and quick works better.
LTDANIEL
try switching the plug wires around, maybe you put them on the wrong cylinder.
Banshee~
try switching the plug wires around, maybe you put them on the wrong cylinder. 348032[/snapback] no you dont want to do that. The short wire should be on the brake side, the long one should be on the clutch side.

fixitrod
Both fire at the same time. It doesn't matter which side you put the wires on. make sure the on off switch didn't mess up on you and it turned on make sure the key is on make sure you didn't bump a wire.. . like a coil wire. You must have just bumped something or a switch went bad.
CowboyBanshee
I have heard that using ether on a small motor like a banshee or a snowmachine can have adverse effects and lower the compression because its hard on the rings....
2001Toomey
I think it takes some oil of the cylinder walls, so it's not good to pour the whole bottle in there, but maybe a quick shot will get it started safely.
jmoore
Got her goin! Kinda weird though. After doing a spark test and countless times taking out the plugs to check them to see if they were full of gas, shee just fired out of the blue. Now everything is just peachy again. Thanks guys, I appreciate your input!
Brian060
dont forget to turn the gas off when kickin it!
Hunt4BigGame
Both fire at the same time. Not gonna work that way. The only coil wire on a banshee is the two plug wires from the coil. You may have fouled the plugs. This can happen pretty easily with two-strokes. Put a fresh set of plugs in and try it again. Opps! I should have finished reading the thread....you got it going!
