kb7kuh
Greetings All! I have a 2004 Shee mods are FMF Gold Series Fattys, Duel K&N's, Boost Bottle, Mains are 310's and Pilots are 37.5's Air screws set at 1 1/2 turns. Tores gone, Motor Stock. Allways run at Sea Level. It's a real chore to start when cold. After it warms up, it will start with 1 kick and runs Strong (no boging) I just installed a set of V-Force2 reeds. Do I need to rejet? I fired it up (same as befor hard to start) and it idles fine (once it starts) and winds up and sounds real good. I hope to get it to the dunes on the 9th, and will put in a fresh set of plugs to see what it's doing. Any sugestions? Thanks, Don AKA BansheeX
spoin39
I hope you mean 27.5 pilots. If not, that's your problem.

Banshee~
Move needle clip one position leaner, adjust airscrews, 0-2 sizes larger on the pilots I got that off of Jetting FAQ
Otis
I have basicly the same set up as you,( except for the dual K-n-N's..i'm running only one biggie) and riding elevation... i was running the 27.5 pilot, and Someone on here told me that Fattys like it leaner....so i put the 25 back in, and richened the needle one...she liked that a lot better, specialy now that the weather is getting nicer (warmer)....Just a thought.... it's in here somewhere...not too long ago either... kb7kuh
Anymore sugestions? I'm going to try to get a test run tomm. between rain showers. It's weird, once it starts it idles fine, and all the way through the powerband it runs and pulls hard. I'm using 16oz to 4 gals. (40 to 1 I think) I will also try the Choke trick to see if that makes a difference. Edited April 2, 2005 by kb7kuh

mxbanshee
You should definately re-jet! V-Force reeds...all reeds for that matter...flow air. V-force reeds are designed to flow more air, and they do!!! More air going into the engine requires more fuel, it's real simple! Re-jet. fixitrod
My fatty's like a leaner pilot... they still do with a 4mm motor and different carbs...lol. Mine liked a on clip leaner on the needle too but that was with stock reeds. You'll have to play with your jetting. Strange thing is the symptoms you have with the pilot are those of the pilot being to lean. Unless your compression is low !!!
kb7kuh
Well I'm not sure about the Comp. it's a 2004 so I would think it's ok but I will check it. Going riding tomm. so I will see whats up. I will put in some new plugs and do a plug chop. Thanks Everybody!!! Don
sheefreak
Did you happen to clean the carbs when you put now reeds in? I just had same exact symptoms as you. I had a friend who has a business do some quick carb work for me cause I couldn't do it in time for a trip, turns out he put float bowls back on wrong carbs. They have to be on correct carb or choke won't work for right side. If you look inside your float bowls, they are numbered 1-1, and 1-2. 1-1 goes on left side carb w/ckoke slide. I run almost same setup as you and I run 30 pilots, runs great, starts great. Edited April 8, 2005 by sheefreak

I kind of hate to start change anything cause from idle to WOT it rips. Guess I will try going one position richer on the neddle and see what happens. I can allways go back. Thanks Everybody!!!!!
