frocashmoney24
what hole? any way you could drill all that shit out, and tap new threads in?
Otis
foot peg bolt hole. I tried drilling out the extractor, but it didnt even put a dent in it. It's strong enough to withstand being drilled out, but not enough for it's intended purpose....i dont get it... I gotta friend with a welder that's gonna try and weld a piece of metal to the extractor, to try and get it out that way.... any other suggestions?????/

banshee boy 98
is it the front hole or back? if it is the back i have a fix. you grind off the outer part of the hole. it is just like a big washer with a nut tack welded to the center. get some solid round stock, drill a hole in the center, tap it out, and then put it in the hole on the frame and weld it up. buff it down, and you are done. 89Steeda
You can heat the extracter with a torch till it glows. After it cools, the extractor will now be of a softer metal, not like the super hard metal you are trying to drill now. Not sure what this does to the strength of your frame though. Lepew
First try to "anneal" the extractor with a torch. Just get it cherry red and let it cool slowly. Also heat the bolt and frame around it. As every thing cools it may break loose what is holding the bolt in the first place. Then the next step if you can weld thru a nut to the bolt and extractor you can hopefully back out one or both. You anneal the extractor so the weld will hold soundly to it. If your patient then spry a little penetrating lube on the bolt, extractor and nut and give it time to work. Maybe even tap lighly on the nut to help break the bolt loose and help the lube get into the threads. Goodluck

We've had to do shit like that at the shop when a tap breaks off in an expensive part. Rather than junk the part we go to a shop that can weld something onto the broken piece of tap, then we spin it out that way.

That is exactly what i was figuring on doing with mine. Just wondering if that realy was the case. I thought it looked like a washer with a nut on the back of it. Otis
It's the front hole... The welding trick didn't work. I think it's broke off too far back in the hole. I have one more option, but am gonna have to wait till Monday to try er out. [fingers crossed]
