Too much compression?

Recommended Posts

I run 19cc with 175 psi and a stock crank. I think in most cases it will be okay. There are always exceptions. If you have sticky slicks on hot pavement, pin the throttle then drop the clutch the crank might not be the same geometry afterwards.

Really, in most cases I think you would be fine. Unless there is enough resistance against the crank, like traction that a stock suspended Banshee doesn't usually have, that compression shouldn't hurt it.

The trade off between high compression and high RPM performance is that in higher RPM's there will be more static drag and make higher RPM's less achievable, but your low end performance will be much higher. Does that make sense? I'm drunk and I'm not sure if I care.
