PUSH THE THROTTLE
Go to the next National, and ask the pros what they think they would rather ride. See if you get one vote for the Banshee. Can you even run a Banshee in a PRO MX competition? I was thinking you couldn
islandsurfer
I don't care what any body says... My SHEE is great at what I think it is great at.... It's as good as my poor ass can afford to make it...
MonkeyBoy
Again, look at the question. On an MX track lighter and more nible wins every time. Sorry, the Banshee does not hold it's own on an MX track. It would qualify for Open Pro, but no one uses it. Why? Too heavy, poor frame design, and power delivery issues. I'm on a Banshee website because I own one. I race it, I dune it, and I enjoy it. But guys, get real and admit that there are bikes better suited to certain needs than the Banshee. I am looking to replace the frame with a 250R geometry frame and go full Roll Lobo chassis on it. That's the best it will ever handle. Still gonna spin the tires out of the corners because of power delivery. It's the nature of the beast. I am starting to realize why some people get so frustrated talking to you guys. Bansheeman1121
I beat a yfz 450 in a pavement drag race, but other than the seat and the higher feel of it id say id pick the four stroke easy to ride power than the rush of the banshees powerband on a loose dirt track. Those things dont exactly have a mellow powerband but its nothing like the tire somkin hit of the banshee. i like the 4 stroke power on a track but when im flyin down the road my 2 stroke will smoke it Edited March 3, 2005 by Bansheeman1121

I own other quads, but I don't ask questions about them here. As far as the 450, I've smoked a lot of them, mostly because the riders sucked!! BenBB
But guys, get real and admit that there are bikes better suited to certain needs than the Banshee. 333026[/snapback] I doubt you'll find much argument here about that, few of us will contest the beleif that a Grizzly is a better choice for crawling through 4' mudholes or an LT80 is a better starting point for an 8-12 year old, but the YFZ450 is always gonna be subject to some sibling rivalry being that it CAN infringe on Banshee territory... Also, the original question was a little vague, "track" could be anything and anywhere that Banshees have proven themselves, and sometimes still dominate, like Pont de Vaux, Pike's Peak, Baja, ST Nationals, and pretty much any drag race. I've seen crazy fuckers on Banshees annihilate built 250R's and YFZ450's on an MX track, and I've seen less experienced Banshee riders get lapped by Z400's on a TT track. The point is, sure we could all sell our Banshees and go buy the latest craze (take a look around, a shitload of members have one of each, best of both worlds), but personally I love my Banshee, shortcomings and all, and don't really care if something else is faster or handles better...to me nothing else comes close in terms of pure enjoyment, from riding to wrenching to upgrading. No shee's not perfect for everyone, but works for me Bear in mind that you're in the realm of the hardest of the hardcore here, that as far as some of us are concerned, everything else is just something to roost on... MonkeyBoy
I totally agree, that's why I am here. I want a YFZ, but I do not want to give up my Banshee to buy it. No one quad excells at everything, so I have more than one. As long as you enjoy what you have, everything is good.

frocashmoney24
Ben you nailed it No quad, no matter what it is, or what it has on it, will have its weak points. You can make a banshee handle better, but not like a 450 with the same mods. But i also do love banshee's
