jonnyrebel2004
Ive got a 2000 Shee considering all the things I have listed in my Sig. what ratio do you think I should mix pump gas and av gas? I talked to David at Noss Machine and he said I would have to run AV gas. Its 104 octane. I should mix it right? I know the guy at the airport said it has a little lead in it, but I have heard it wont affect a 2 stroke. If I should mix it at what ratio should it be done? I dont know if it matters but I am at 1000 ft. Thanks Travis

Blue Duece
i think you could run straight pump with 20's at 1000 feet, but mixing 104@50/50 with pump would do it...you might wanna check your compression

dlnoss
I would say premium pump except for the +4 timing. It might be fine but I recommend on the cautious side. The price of av-gas at a nearby airport is $2.50 which isn't much higher than premium pump. Plus, av-gas takes years to go bad.
Blue Duece
davids giving himself a little cushion......i have a trinity ported shee with 21's running 145psi at sea level and have taken it to death valley california at 500 feet below sea level on 91 pump and it runs great......my passion engine at 180psi at 3000 feet....... i run 118 octane straight......mix it at 1/2 91 or 93 and half race....fuck it run straight 118...its 9 bucks a gallon.....the cut offs somewhere around 150 psi..CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION
jonnyrebel2004
the cut offs somewhere around 150 psi..CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION 332054[/snapback] So if I check my compression and it is over 150 psi, what does that mean as far as what gas I run? dlnoss
If it's over 150 with +4 timing I'd run 50/50 or 100LL Av, or 104 race. It's less expensive to be safe than it is to have to rebuild.

dlnoss
Under 150, fresh, good quality 92-93 octane pump gas should be fine.
Blue Duece
less than 145-150 and your good on fresh clean 91 or better
dnhyoung
If you compression is over 150 then you need to run a higher Octane gas. I've always been told 150-165 lbs of compression run 50/50 mix, and anything 165 lbs and above should be straight race gas.. Then again just my $.
Banshee 79
I Would Run 100LL Avgas. Just My Opinion Though!!
