broke
If you can get it for that price, jump on it. I have been shopping for one for a while now and have never found one that cheap.

locogato11283
450 is much better for track and i like it in the trails better to. predictable power when you need it and its light and easy to turn. if thats all the riding you do go for the 450. Wallrat
Since I mostly ride dunes I'd take the shee anyday. Even when I'm out jumping I feel more comfortable on the shee. Granted I have alot fewer hours on the yfz so maybe I'd get used to the ultra-light front end. The only time that I prefer the yfz is on really steep, narrow, rutted out trails that I never come out of 1st gear. Its a nice quad and its fast as well...but isn't nearly as much fun to ride as the shee.
1800bigk
I have both and the yfz is great but not worth getting rid of a ported banshee for though. The yfz is a good addition to the shee, but cannot replace the shee. jmo likes: fuel economy, looks, handling, can do nice slow wheelies dislikes: elctrical system, slow, transmission is clunky, sounds like shit, bolts keep coming loose Edited February 27, 2005 by 1800bigk
locogato11283
dislikes: elctrical system, slow, transmission is clunky, sounds like shit, bolts keep coming loose 330302 whats wrong with the electrical system? mine works fine. mine isnt slow, in fact the yfz450 is the fastest of the new 4 strokes. ive flat out torn apart alot of ported banshees with it. transmission is clunky? compared to what? im pretty sure you have a drag setup. do you have an override transmission? if thats the case you cant compare the two. there are alot of things you can do to the banshee to make them shift easier. sounds like shit? mine sounds fine, it sounds like a 4 stroke. what bolts come loose? ive never had anything come loose on mine. and my final question, if you dislike it so much why do you own one? 1800bigk
My electrical system is fine too, I just like to keep things very simple. Like kick start. The tranny on my yfz reminds me of my old craptor tranny (clunky, hard to find neutral). my banshee tranny is seamless and neutral is easy to find. I like a lot of hp and the yfz can't get above 60 wheel hp without extensive engine mods. A ported shee can easily make that. I dont have override tranny, because I trail ride too. I personally dont like the sound of four strokes. They sound like helicopters kinda. The bolts that hold my skid plate on, plastics, and one of engine oil supply bolts came off and squirted oil everywhere. my yfz is bone stock and I bought it for my wife to ride. I was just letting him know what I like and disliked just like he asked. They are a top notch machine. I am just really hard on things, thats all. Oh and mine runs hot as shit, dealership said it was normal. Edited February 27, 2005 by 1800bigk

1800bigk
To be honest I havent even opened my airbox on the yfz. I want to buy that Dr. something slip on exhaust for it and do the cam mod. But right now its just a gas and go bike. When I got it, the guy at the dealership told me to turn it on and let it idle for a couple mins and while we were talking we noticed that the exhaust pipe was glowing red, like molten steel red. He said oh yeah they all do that. Even though mine runs hot, the fan has only came on one time in all the abuse I put it through.
FlatTrackinIt55
your talking about Dr.D ( Dubach racing & development, i think) he has had alot to do with all the yamaha 4-stroke mx bikes/quads and he knows every little crease about the motors. should i ever buy a 450 that we the first place i would go for an exhaust. heres the site to dr.d http://www.dubachracing.com

NugShee
ive flat out torn apart alot of ported banshees with it. 330304 I rode one for the first time yesterday on the dunes and was not impressed with it all that much. There were things that I did like about it but it wasnt as fast as I had imagined. Maybe I was just taking it a little easy since it wasnt my bike. However I did feel confortable on it right away. Banshee~
Does the 450 turn sharper than the banshee? I would get a 450 for sure if you could swing both
