tschoeberl Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 I am looking at replacing my stock sprockets and chains on my banshee. I am wondering what everyone likes to run on their quads for riding on the sand. Is there better ones to run and not to run? Where is the best place to buy them? Also, what length of chain do I need to run a +4 swingarm with stock gearing? I am new in this area and could use some advice before spending the money on this. Quote
jaysea1 Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Rockey Mountain Atv, has a web site. Primary gear sprockets are very inexpensive, and hold up well. I just run a DID chain (non-o ring) for the sand and replace it every season. It is an inexpensive chain thats good, I only run in the sand. I know some will reccomend an o ring or x ring chain, but that sand gets in everything. You'll need a chain with 120 links, and then need to cut it to fit your swingarm. I think 3 to 4 links will need to be removed. Quote
tschoeberl Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 I was looking at magicracing.com and they have package kits with sprockets and chains. The one I was looking at was the Pro kit and it had JT sprockets and EK520SRXG Quadra X-Ring chain for $79.95. Is that a good price for this and will they hold up in the sand? Quote
John19 Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Don't run alluminum sprockets in the sand. I use steel and they hold up great. Got mine off of magicracing.com Quote
tschoeberl Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 I think that I may go with magicracing's kit and see what happens. Should I go with the O-ring or X-ring chain for the sand? Quote
