ledofthezep
Sounds like Nightrider's got you on the right track. I've picked many manual & auto locks with a close hanger...you go at it long enough it's bound to work. hehe...
jinx44
Don't you know that all ford keys are the same? Just find another ford vehicle and try their key. The key for the 88 taurus we used to have would unlock my mom's 96 marquis, our 92 F250, and my friends 85 F150. This actuallys works a lot more often than you would think. banshdog
used to have a thunderbird, cannot tell you how many times I locked my keys in, even in the trunk! it had a stupid self locking alarm. havent done it in my truck yet, hopefully wont. but onstar would hopefully help out. If not AAA insurance will cover the cost of an unlock call ( have done that a few times) Hope you get in, locking keys in like that sucks, puts you right into a shatty mood. bansheeboy619
This trick will blow your minds and will do no damage to your locks what so ever...........Take a long small diameter screwdriver or piece of rod(about 1/4 -5/16 diameter and 8 inchs long.Lift up the door handle just enough to slide the rod thru the hole of the handle closest to the locking knob.Once you get it about 3 inchs in there wiggle it from side to side, you will be able to see the door lock knob banging around in its hole.If you put some pressure on the side of it,you will be able to grip the locking rod.now all you have to do is push down the back of the tool or rod (teeter)and you will force the locking pin up.just keep some side pressure as you pushing down.Remember you don't want to pull the handle up to high to do this,or it will never fully unlock.I can get in any 87-99 ranger 85-93 mustang 84-88 t-bird 85-92 escort in less than 5 seconds.I've owned all of these vehicles at one point and own a 99 ranger now. The easiest part about it is once the tool makes contact with the locking rod,you can see exactly what your doing by watching the door lock knob.you don't want to put too much side pressure on the locking rod, just enough to get a bite on it.Like i said 5 seconds and it won't take you long to learn how. I always show unaware ownwer that "trick"just to see the look on there face.VULNERABILITY 328256[/snapback] sorry alittle late on this one but that trick is the bomb I used to do it on my brothers 98 ranger. FORMULASPEED
Pull on the door frame an put a door wedge in there. Use a metal coat hanger to grab the handle.

Also, almost every chevy pickup from 88-01 can be opened with ANY key on the driver's side. Also, new GMs can be opened by the remote over a cell phone, lol. My dad locked his keys in his truck at work, called my mom, she held the spare remote up to the phone and pushed the button, while my dad held his phone up to the door, and it opened. Not many people know this, but Fords have a key code. I think they can look it up by the vin#. You can go to a ford dealer and have a new key cut. I used to do it all the time, when I worked for a car rental company.

nosbanshee4u
fords had 132 keys in that year for the doors, so no, they are not all interchangable but yes some key cuts were used more often than others.
