.
I have the answer to the social security problem......its the only answer and the only way that will make people satisfied to some extent. Those of us that are 30 and younger, we have enough time left to build up 401K's and IRA's and save money that we can hopefully live off of it in our retirement (more than social security would ever give us anyway) If you are 31 and older, you will still receive some sort of retirement fund, the older you are when the plan is initiated, the more you will receive. When the money runs out, the govt takes on the deficit. When the plan is initiated, we stop paying SS and make our own plan. Time to fend for ourselves people....Big brother isnt gonna hand out lunch money forever. We'll be paying it off in taxes for generations, but at least it will be dealt with and out of sight out of mind.
Brooke
id rather be able to put it in a private savings fund, or invest it. like you said, that way at least i could pass that shit onto my family someday if i want to. or hell, have some sort of home ownership incentive. nothing better than owning your own home. my great grandmother is 90, owns her home outright and that alone, not having a house payment or rent to pay, helps tons. but she worked her whole life (when it was almost unheardof for a woman to work outside the home) and now lives off her own personal savings. thats the way to do it man. all she did is save, simple. unfortunately most people dont want to be responsible for themselves and taking care of their own finances. theyd rather have the government pull automatically from their checks, then sit and bitch about it too. lol you dont have to be rich to secure your financial future. just gotta be froogle and wise about it. like ikikazz said, alls it takes is stuffing a $20 bill in a piggy bank everyday. Justintoxicated
another solution would be for everyone to become a politician! Definately makes me sick...Then again, there are people making WAY more than a politician makes in his entire life span (including after retirement) every day! This makes me even sicker! Brooke the problem is that we have no choice but to have the government pull from our paychecks! If I could not pay SS I wouldn't I'm not going to see a dime from SS by the time I retire...There will be no such thing. It's like a Tax on top of a Tax. Makes as much sense as having a tax on tax. Ya thats a good one! Hell as it is we pay 30% tax on your paycheck After state and federal (maybe even more), then a 7-10% tax when you purchase anything with your money that has already been taxed.... there goes 40% of your pay (about)! It makes no sense our pay is taxed then everything we buy we get taxed again...In Cali we also pay a gas tax and now they want to ditch that and create a mileage tax, where you pay tax for how many miles you drive instead of for gas! Sounds to me like they are trying to squeeze even more money out of us by hiding the issue at hand...yup screw all the people that bought hybrid vehicles! They found a loop hole in the gas tax so now we need a milage tax instead so they can pay like the rest of us, and have fugly cars! I just read something about purchasing things outside of the state where you avoided state tax are now supposed to be reported on your state tax sheet so they can tax you anyways! Where does it end! it is hard to save money when you loose nearly 50% of your total pay on taxes and interest, most of which ends up in the governemnts hands. But hey what do you all expect in a society based on Capitalism rather than democracy. Thats what that 50% of your check is called Capital! 100,000,000 people paying 50% of their wages that ends up in 5 peoples hands...Thats not profit, thats Robbery (or in other words the difference between Profit and Capital) Profit= making money, capital = stealing profit from others and leaving them with only their Living Labor amounts. captial does not even have to be money it can simply be having power over others. KGL
What's even better is the 150,000 soldiers who are fighting to find WMD's that don't exist, , had to dodge bullets and chemical weapons to protect themselves and the ones they love , lemmings who think the politians are actually doing something for the people of this country. It's enough to make you puke. So WMD's dont exist, yet soldiers are dodging chemical weapons which are wmd's? A lemming would continue on its path and go blindly over the cliff... Last time I checked Bush is reforming a broken system. Also it is the upper class that supports this country , they pay the lions share of the taxes...dont believe it? ask a business owner on here to explain. I'd really like to sympithize with them, but in relation to what they make, its really not that much. I'm supposed to feel sorry for the rich guy who can afford a 2 million dollar home and drives a 100,000 dollar vehicle. If taxes were really hurting him that bad or he really cared,I don't think he could afford amenities like that. Sorry, but us middle class people who just make enough to support our families and get by, don't want to hear some rich assholes sob story about how he can't afford to buy his kid the 24k gold addition of G.I Joe with kung foo grip. I don't support this website, but I love what the British did with this. http://www.dontblamemeivoted4kerry.com/ Edited February 25, 2005 by Nightrider
KGL
So is it ok to punish people for succeeding ? keep in mind that their taxes factor in to what they pay their employees. And in relation to what they make , its a hell of alot more than we pay. I didnt expect you to feel sorry for them , just wanted to put it in perspective. Brooke
the rich people of this country pay 90% of all taxes, without them we wouldnt be quite so well off. not to mention all the jobs they provide. its easy for people to shit on the rich, but most of them worked their asses off to get where they are, and stay there. i think they deserve a little bit more respect. we have great schools in this country, great government programs, great roadways, all things many countries dont have, and all things funded by taxes. i dont think most people appreciate just how well we have it in this country. and im not just comparing us to underdeveloped nations, but industrialized nations as well. complain about gas prices being around $2/gallon? go to the UK where its around $7/gallon. complain about the taxes you pay? go to switzerland where you pay in 75% of your income to taxes, no matter how much you make. buncha spoiled brats with big mouths. KGL
My perspective is..you make more, you pay more.Maybe if these cheap fuckers were willing to pay us more than we would be content with paying more taxes. No one is forcing them to make 200k plus a year, obviously there doing it because they are never satisfied with what they have, they cannot live within there means or the taxes they pay are not really hurting them as bad as they let on.All I can say is there a bunch of greedy MotherF*ckers. When is enough enough? 329751[/snapback] So..... theyre greedy because they want to keep what they have worked for but they should just GIVE you more money ? i c . Nightrider
I am content with the taxes I pay,The rich always complain about the taxes they pay,I don't know any wealthy person who doesn't cry about how much taxes are taken out of their income. Taxes will always be there and I have no problem paying more,If I make more,I am content with paying more. I probably make 40g a year and live a comfortable life,I don't have a home in the Bahamas or take regular trips to Europe. My home costed approx 110k and I drive a new but stripped down F-150.My point is I'm happy with what I have and where I'm at. You greedy fuckers are never satisfied, you (KGL and Brooke)appear to be the upper class and thats fine,if you've worked hard enough to reach that level then congrats.NOW PAY YOUR F*CKING TAXES!!!!!!!!!!
