05Special Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 looking to get a set, i know mods have to be made but am unsure of what, info i sappreciated thanks Quote
zilladude Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 You will need either an aftermarket steeing stem w/ big bar mounts on it or you will have to get adapters for the stock stem. You will need to relocate the key unless you get the Tag combo. Tag makes a complete kit w/bars & mount(w/key mount ) Quote
rjvoight Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 I f i was you, before you drop the big money on th pro-taper fat bar, take a look at the new pro-taper 7/8th bar. They have 3 bends, ATV low, mid and hi. I am running them on my MX bike and they are great. Good feel, tough as nails. Trans World Motocross gave them 5 out of 5 stars and you can pick a set up from Rocky Mountain for under 60.00 bucks. I am getting the ATV Mid bend for my shee next payday. Just my two cents.... rjvoight Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 Also, Pro-Taper makes a universal kit for 40.00 bucks that allows you to use the fat bars with most of your stock equipment. Quote
superdave Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I have the Pro-Taper SE bar/ (7/8) mid in black..they are the best bars I have used.....fat-bars,renthals, I like the SE bar the best so far...Just my thoughts..D. Quote
racer Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 the pro taper se's are fuckin cool for sure. Quote
SICK BOY Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I run Pro Taper bars, and I like them alot. Quote
. Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 when you people say you like the bars, what do you like about them? I'm also looking into getting a set and what type bend should I get thats gonna make me be able to pull up easier. Take into consideration I'm also going to be running a 2" riser to clear my IMS tank. I'm thinking low bend.....but not sure Quote
rjvoight Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 (edited) I really like the bend. On the KX I am running CR High bend. I did not cut any off of the ends and they fit perfect for my riding style. They also seem to numb vibration some. I have run tons of different bars and I like these the best....for now anyway. The price is hard to beat and they seem to be quality. Transworld Motocross gave them 5 out of 5 stars for comfort, durability, price, style etc. To dethrone renthal that has got to say something. For the Banshee I am going with the mid-bend. Dirtwheels said the high-bend was too much. And we know dirtwheels is always right. If you already have a two inch riser, I would definaltely go with the low bend. I would not be afraid to try them, for 60 bucks I don't think you could go wrong. TACamaro67 Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I run the Cr hi-bend pro tapers and like the bend a lot over the stock set-up. Less vibration, less fatigue (arm pump), and very comfortable. Also I have not bent them yet Quote
sheeweet Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 I just bought new ProTaper Hbars from a guy at work that decided not to use them. They are not really for a quad but for a MC bike. But he took $10 for them so I thought what the hell. But I have to get an adaptor as they are 1 1/8" clamp zone. It is the Easton EA70 model. But do you guys think these would be OK for banshee? It seems like they might turn out to be too low so maybe I should get a riser too? Sorry to steal your thread 05Special but this is the same subject, I thought what the heck Quote
racer Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 the pro taper se's are fuckin cool for sure. 331620[/snapback] got me some last friday come to think of it. Quote
CowboyBanshee Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I really like my cheapo tusk bars...rocky mountain sells em, and they are pretty tough..only set i bent had something to do with a whole shee landing on top of them after my front end came apart....comfortable...shiny...cheap Quote
