fromygod
yes it is. but it really shouldnt take u very long, provided u have the right tools. air powered die grinder worked great for me. if ur planning to use the lid to ur airbox that needs to be trimmed a little too. i run a outer wears stretched over the top of the airbox. $20 and its gotta flow better than that snorkel
NYCBanshee7
I run no lid w/ the pro design adapter w/ K&N and outerwear around the filter. Awesome. Sounds great too.
Justintoxicated
obviously you don't have to cut the plastic ribs on the stock mount, since you are replacing it with the Pro-flow mount. The instructions are probably for modifying the stock mount to fit. I told you this the other night in chat right? you will need to bolt the pro-flow adapter to the airbox and I would suggest ditching hte Lid since you ride ocatillo and glamis. the lid is only necessary if you ride in water. Make sure you bring some jets. I only have large sizes or I would hook you up. My smallest is a 320. MILO
whatever cutting you do to the box or lid, it's best to do it with it off the quad, or make sure you plug up your intake boots. and make sure you clean it out VERY well, or you'll find little pieces of plastic all through your filter. they're a bitch to clean out if you have the foam filters. 64xracer
I don't know about the pro flow on a banshee, I have individual K&N's, but I instaled one on a kfx400. I had to grind the plastic ribs off the air box to make it fit on there flat. But the problem was, and you need to look on your banshee airbox, is that when you bolt the aluiminum adapter on, the foam o-ring on the back puts too much pressure on the plastic box and causes the airbox to bend out between the bolts, causeing a air leak. What I did to fix this is, I cut a piece of 1/8" flat iron the same size as the adapter, drilled four holes in the corners for the bolt holes and then I chucked it up in the lathe and bored out the center to the size of the backside of the box. If you don't have a lathe, a holesaw and a die grinder works too. Then I threw the foam o-ring away and siliconed the adapter to the box and instaled the 1/8" flat on the backside and bolted it all together. Now the box is sealed and will never have a air leak. Hope this helps
.
Theres a little lip that the adaptor slides down into in the front of the airbox, and then you bolt it at the top through those 2 holes. All the other pieces that stick up for the stock filter to sit on need to be cut off so the filter can fit in there.
floyd398
just installed my proflow adapter and k&n with outerwear, but I still hate the stock airbox lid. Is there a better lid besides the K&n lid that I can use for wet conditions? thanks
