2005 banshee

hi, i just registered with banshee hq, so i am new to the scene. But i already have questions.

I just bought a 2005 banshee back in November. the bike runs great even for being stock.

About 3 weeks i decided to cut my throttle return springs about 1.5 turns, so that it could loosen up the thumb throttle a little bit.

After i put everything back together i noticed my idle screws were off. so i re adjusted them and the bike idled good, like new. But i did notice that when i pushed on the throttle one of the mufflers wouldn't smoke as much as the other one, then a "sneezing" sound would come out.I dont know if its a back fire or what. After the bike if warmed up it wont do it anymore.

any comments or suggestions?

Sounds like the Parking Brake was not disengaging. THis causes the TORS to kick in or lock up and it causes this problem. I suggest a Factory Yamaha Clutch Lever and a Parking brake Block off to remedy this problem. Let me know if you need the blockoff I have an extra one.

Once I replaced mine I could not believe how much difference this made. THe entire stock assembly is a BIG POS, I held off for a long time and it was some of the best money I have ever spent replacing it.

You shoudl not have vut the spring in your stock carbs, the TORS system is the result of a known issues with the stock carbs sticking open. The TORS will prevent the bike for sticking Wide Open. It is easier for this to happen with less spring pressure. THis really should only be done with aftermarket carbs. You shoudl have just gotten a thumb throttle extender.
