slow2_2
Alright, I have been running in a series of problems with my shee. First, I couldn't get it to start without using carb. cleaner. I wasnt getting any fuel, so I purchased new carbs. and now it will fire right up. The problem is, it will only hit on 1 cylinder. I have switch the plug wires around, swapped plugs, and even check compression, which is good. I know I am getting fuel because it sprays fuel out of the exhaust. I pull the plugs out and the one that is not hitting looks brand new. Does this sound like a cdi unit problem? What else should I check. I am mechanically incline but fairly new to the shee. I'm used to working on vehicles.

slow2_2
What would explain the fuel comming out to that side exhaust pipe?
mat
How fresh is your gas? If it is in question, then drain your tank and buy some new stuff first. Next, remove one of your spark plug caps (aka boot or elbow). It will unscrew off of the wire. Hold the end of the wire near a head bolt and have a friend kick the motor over. The spark should jump a gap at least 1/4" wide and the spark should be fat and blue. If the spark looks good, then swap cylinders with your carbs and see if the same cylinder is still misfiring. If the missing cylinder switches sides, then you know the problem is with the carb. If the carb isn't the problem, then swap sides with the reed blocks and see if the problem moves with the reed blocks. If none of the above tests identify the problem, then perform a leak down test and see if you have any air leaks in the motor.

slow2_2
Update; I barrowed a cdi unit from a friends bike, didn't help. I pulled off the reed cage off of the side that is not hitting and the reeds looked good. Which that are fairly new anyways. I will switch the carbs sometime soon to see if that will help. snowprophet1
Don't know if you checked this or not, but a kid couldn't get his started so he brought it over, and I checked compression, spark, etc., and all looked good. When I went to check his carbs, the small straight piece of rubber hose that connects the two carbs through the choke circuit was missing, and laying down under the carbs. After I put it in place, it fired right up.

Rattlehead
I have the same problem. Sometimes I start mine up and only one side will fire. the other just blows cold air out the exhaust. If I rev it a bit , it will fire again. Once the bike is hot, it is not a problem anymore. I only have one carb , so I know it's not the carb. I think I may have a cdi issue. New plug boots, new coil, fresh gas, good compression. Doesn't make any sense. Always the same side too. Hopefully the problem will be cured when I get my motor work done. Good luck with yours! Oh try getting new plug boots. They are like 3 bucks a piece. Doesn't hurt to try. They screw on like the other guy said. I had a problem once before with it and new boots cured it. But not after I replaced the coil and the stator and all the other expensive stuff.I could have just bought the boots and saved hundreds of bucks! If you swap the plug wires and the same side still does not fire it is probably not a CDI issue.
