1800bigk
It really depends on what you are looking for and how much you can spend. If you are limited to say, $500, then you may just want to go with a good port job. But if you can drop a grand then get the cheethas. If you got $1500 laying around then get the cheetah cub with 4 mil crank and then you have close to 90 hp.
minishee
well i have been saving for a while now, and my dad has as much fun tearing it apart and putting it back together as anyone i have ever seen so i know he will help out. this i s probably really stupid, but what will the 4 mil strker do? how doesthis affect the engine. and can i make as much hp with my stock cylinders? 1800bigk
well, a 4 mil stroker means you put a new crank inside the engine with longer stroke. Stock ported cylinders cannot come close to what the cheetahs can do. Even the best builders will tell you that stock jugs on gas with just a 4mil crank will make high 70's hp. Thats with big carbs and big exhaust. The cheetah cub 4 mil makes high 80's with stock carbs and t-5 exhaust. And the cubs have a nikasil coating and will last for a long time maybe 150+ gallons of fuel. When you rebuild the cheetahs there is no machine work involved, just drop in new pistons and thats it, no honing or boring. minishee
well for example i have been looking into patriot racing they offer a good price on the cheetah cub ported and polished with or without the stroker. is there a really big difference in power gains there? or am i stupid not to just save up and go with a stroker motor the first tiem around. i ride alot of open trails and fields along with hillclimbs. no one in my area has a stroker so what is the performance differance? 1800bigk
Why wont they be good for regular riding? that sucks, does the power peak out to high or do they make too much power to fast? They make peak power at the same rpm's as a regular 4mil. Also the toque curve is greater than or equal to the reg +4 engine from 7k to 9500. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...pe=post&id=3084 http://www.bansheeracing.com/cub16.jpg Edited February 10, 2005 by 1800bigk
PassionRE
Can you say wheelspin beyond belief? Most well built +4 strokers alone are very hard to hook to the ground, imagine another 20hp on top of that!

wesw
just a brain fart how would this cubs compare to your x-3 models. to an extent. i sure the cubs have more capibialities, just wondering
PassionRE
X-3 vs. Cub?..we'll see soon enough. Capabilities where the Cubs are concerned?...well, you going to have a hell of a time reducing exhaust area on a set of Cubs if your not into drag motors. They will be able to be massaged through transfer mods somewhat. But all in all, the Cubs will be killer for sure...just not a fit all situation....Jim
