Cotton eyed Joe
anybody see an advantage to having these, or are they a waste of money 320578[/snapback] Alot of people use them between the reed block and the carbs instead of between the reed block and the cylinders to space the carbs back a bit if they are using larger bore carbs. This keeps the clutch lever arm from wearing through the bowl.

I know of a guy who completely removed the reed blocks, installed boyseen reeds with spacers, his powerband comes on smooth, not like a lightswitch anymore. I've pondered doing this myself...Anyone else here run without the blocks?

You are refering to putting them between the reed and the manifold I think? To move the carb away from the clutch cable arm. I got my Carbs used and the bolt was ground down on the bottem to clear the arm without any expensive spacers. (anyone else feel these are ridiculously expensive for what you get?) Only trouble is I have to remove 4 screws to remove the bottem of the left carb rather than the uhh 14mm? on the bottem. So it is liek jetting stock carbs on that side, only it is still easier cause no TORS.

rocketboy
i run a 3/8 billet reed spacer with vforce2 and ive tried it without spacer, for my setup the spacer made a noticable difference, from my experianve the spacer is a great mod for high performance applications not very noticable on mostly stock she ,i have a smooth powerful hit ,without it on pavement the power is erratic and wheels are never on the ground cant control steering at all,my.

GYTWYPT
I took the stops off not long after i purchased my she about 10 years ago. I lived in Cali and a dirtbiker buddy of mine just took an old set of reeds cut them in half and put them on my reeds. Worked real good. That is just a cheap way.
