hey guys, I need some new paddles for the rear of my banshee......

i have the skat trak edges right now and dont like them.....the v-design

not enough hook up for a banshee with power:(....ya know?

so a freind with a following 400ex is gonna buy them.....heeehee

should i get the haulers or would the off brands like GBC or similar work just as good?..........i would like to not have to pay hauler prices:)

you mean Sand Skate II's?

Those are much lighter than Sand Stars, they are less agressive, but also spin much easier due to both weight and less agressive paddles. Unforutnately now that my shee has more than pipes I feel your pain with them not hooking up enough. I'm switching to 8 paddle extremes now but I'm not sure I'm going to like the straight paddle design. I love the ability to easily slide the rear end around while riding across steep razorbacks sideways.

I would LOVE the Sand Stars, if they were as light as Sand Tires Unlimited, or Skat-Track. They are a good duning tire though and from what I sceen they do hook up well.

I'm not sure but I think both sand stars and Skate II's have Taller Paddles than the Skat-Track Edges. I would not look to skat Track for the V-blade myself as I do not think they recomend them for high HP manchines. If your not concered with weight and you don't want a straight line tire you might try the sand Stars. If you want to go fast in a straight line defintaely go with some version of the Haulers.

My Skate II's still work after 5 years of riding man these thigns lasted forever.

If you have some ponies under your seat, you gotta get some haulers. If only for the INSANE 60" roost! You will hook much better. I didn't like the way they cornered until i figured it out. You have to start your turn on the throttle, and keep giving it more and more power all the way through the turn. It will slide out like sand skates, but it takes a bit more throttle and a bit more leaning as the front end will come up if you don't lean hard enough.

The real payoff is the straight line hook-up. Amazing.

Your set up has a lot to do with the right tires for you. First of all 20-10-10 tires really dont hook up that well and never will maybe uless you get a -2 swing arm. Also your weight has to do a lot with how many paddles you get and the moister in the sand as well. If you get tall tires such as the 21 or 22 inch tires they themselves will give you more grip and float better. You should consider atleast 21 inch tires or 22 if you want to drag a lot but you will have to lean a little more in the turns with those but I dont mind at all. What is your set up now such as swing arm length and weight and where do you ride. The cheapest prices I have seen is jimsandtoys.com. Scat trak is the lightest so dont bother with any others. You just need to get the right size tire for you.

I'd stay away from the GBC stuff, stick with Skat-Trak, although manny seem to like a similar tire called the Turbo King? I think, by Jims Sand Toys or something, Led will chime in sooner or later, be patient.

No complaints with the turbo's here. Economical price & excellent performance, wearing better than my previous skats; but I never had any complaints with my skats either other than the price.

Here's a couple posts on them you can check out...

I've heard Padla Brats are the new thing now. Comp cuts are extemely light. and hook very well, and the tire is more rugged than a ultra light hauler (not as prone to leaks, and the paddles wont rip off). Sizes are 21x12x8 or 21x12x10. I saw a set last fall at LS, they ARE a bad ass tire, but a bad ass price comes along with them! :D

:rotflmao: LOL...my bad, was sick & took an extra long weekend.

The avatar cracked me up, so I figured I'd throw it up there for a bit. :D  It will be swapped out with something new here B4 long. ;)

That sounds right, the only time I've seen Jim be cheaper than RMATV is when you buy there @ the shop & don't have to dick with shipping.  Never had any problems with RM's shipping.

Actualy Rocky Mountain was cheaper with shipping vs Jim's with Tax. Jim helped me out with some info though, but I was not going to have time to swing by his shop.

This was for 8 paddle extremes on black lable douglas, perhaps other products vary. I think I saved like 20 $ I can't remember exactly I can looks later if you like. Shipping was $25 from RMATV.

Anyways, prices were very competitive for a walk in shop. :)
