paintball for life
i am wondering what would make a better machine for the woods out of a 400ex, a banshee or a blaster. i want one that also has plenty of speed and acceleration as i would do some grass drags and mx racing. i know you guys and girls are partial to banshees but please give me a good answer. i like the banshee the most but i want something that would hold up on trails all day but i can still kick some ass in racing. thank you in advance
sheefreak
If you are thinking of doing any racing, better go w/Banshee. Might as well completely forget about a blaster. Only problem is, depending on how much trail room you have, Banshee's can be a little fast for tight corners, especially for beginners. PUSH THE THROTTLE
Depends on your maintenance style, if you want to jump on and ride - 400EX. If you want to take care of your machine and jump on and WIN - Banshee. I
locogato11283
how much trails and how much dragging will you be doing? if you spend 95% in the trails and 5% dragging id go with a yfz450. good in the trails and quick in the drags. if you spend more time dragging than anything then go with the banshee. a banshee can be made to be a good woods machine, they just take some money and skills to get them to handle a little better. bigboybanshee
You can definitely go ahead and scratch the blaster from the list...Like loco said, it all depends on what you plan to do more often as to which quad to get. The 400ex will be good in the trails, but will probably get left in a drag. The banshee will be great for dragging, but will also need some work and skill to make a solid trail machine out of it. I ride my banshee 90% of the time in woods/trails, and the other 10% in dragging, fields, etc...It's real fun to ride in trails but is not as easy as a 4 stroke would be. A yfz450 would be ideal in your scenario though.

paintball for life
well i have decent room on the trails and dont mind going fast. i most likely wont have the money for a 450 as i am on a fairly tight budget but i might consider that. i do mostly trails but i will do some dragging but not really compedetive. i will also do some mx style racing and a bit of jumping. i also want one that is decently easy for maintenence
fixitrod
A 400ex isn't a bad machine at all. It's just the yfz450 is a lot funner to ride.
KRMit
Isn't a YFZ450 only about $500 more MSRP than the Banshee? The 450 is a better option for everything you mentioned except for dragging. Drag racing is really the only place a Banshee excels. Like others said I wouldn't even consider the Blaster and it depends on what you do more. You'll lose drags with the 400, but probably be a little faster in the woods and MX. A Banshee can be good at anything, but setting it up for MX requires major $.
