The two big restrictions right now are the porting and carbs. Doing one without the other won't give much; any single restriction in a system limits the entire system. Tim C Posted February 5, 2005 Report Share Posted February 5, 2005 Depending on the porting, you can still use stock carbs with a ported engine but you might not be getting the full power the engine is capable of. You do not need bigger carbs now but you would notice better throttle response with 28mm or 30mm Keihin PWK carbs - don't go any bigger without porting. nathan_sayre Posted February 5, 2005 Report Share Posted February 5, 2005 I've got a mild port on mine. I used to run the stock carbs and at WOT you could feel (and hear) the engine starve for fuel.
