trialsallday
ok i thnk im on my way to getting new a-arms shortly and hopefully some elkas. Does everyone also do the axle wider in this case. will it handle wrong with the stock rear axle?
Banshee17Racing
If you've got the money for the axle also....go for it. It handles MUCH easier w/everything wider. But you'll still notice a difference with just the +2 a-arms.
banshees and beers
You don't need it the +2 Axel.
Tungsten
This is my Banshee with the stock rear and +2+1 A-arms....... Later on I might get the wider axle, but its fine for now.
PhilMoore
You don't need the axle. Just flip the rear wheels (valvestem goes toward sprocket) and the rear will be wider to match the front.
SANDSTAR
You can get wheel spacers on ebay for much cheaper than a wider axle. It will handle much better if your rear width matches the front.
kw04
yea you can do the wheel spacers alot cheaper than the axle bike looks good what kind of a arms

trialsallday
cant flip the rears, hiper beadlock$ should be here any day. I might run spacers. Is there any real benifit to a dura blue axle. Does it just stay truer, and not bend as easy as stock.
Banshee17Racing
The Dura Blue will be stronger than stock. And if you do jumping...I personally recommend the axle over spacers. Right now I've got an axcalibur LS axle and couldn't be happier. I've heard people bending every Durablue axle they've owned, but I've also got a buddy who bent an LS axle too. Either way....I wanna see pics of your bike w/the hipers!! Edited February 4, 2005 by Banshee17Racing

PhilMoore
The Hipers should have the offset opposite of stock. Unless, you specified stock offset. That should widen the rear by 2 or more inches. My own personal experience with Durablue has not been good. On my 400EX, I broke an X-33, twisted an Eliminator(A 400EX just has WAY too much power), and now I am back to the original stock axle, which is as true as the day it came from the factory. Lately, I race local Harescrambles with it, so I want it narrow. I have a Lonestar axle on my Banshee and it is holding up well, except for some minor pitting of the chrome finish. If ride your quad at all, I don't recommend Durablue. Spacers on a Banshee should be fine. It does add extra stress, but so does flipping the rims.
