ledofthezep
Let the bashing begin j/k...considering a trade for a brand spanking new 04 XR400 dirtbike(plus accessories?--may be a determining factor) from a local stealership. As far as I know 04 is the last year for the XR400. I had been up there a while back asking them if they had anymore XR400's & they didn't at the time so I told them to let me know when they came across one or had one boxed up--thinking I might actually have some $$ to spare...not! Well I get an Email today from the stealership saying they got a brand new XR400 in and are taking offers on it because they need to get rid of their 04 inventory...and they will accept trades. So I dunno...I don't really want to part with the banshee, but I've always had a chub for an XR400 that I could dual sport. + Banshees are going for a bit less than nothing these days, so I know in the future picking one up & rebuilding it won't be a problem...but I've grown quite partial to mine after all the time & money I've spent on it. Dunno what I'm gunna do though and have made no promisses to the stealer. I'll still have the EX to tinker around on & I also got my dune buggy too which I've been neglecting due to the banshee. What do you guys think? I know my banshee, to me anyway, is worth more than this bike; but could I actually sell it for what I got into it--hell no. Anway; here's a pic... .
plain and simple, keep the banshee. You built it the way you want it and you're partial to it. To build another one like it will cost you quite a bit in the long run. Save your loot and a year or two down the line look for a used xr400. It's a 4stroke.....you can beat on them forever. You dont want to buy new anyway

ellison445
Keep the shee bro, get rid of that buggy or something. Look at it this way, you may pick one up down the line .....But the amount of money you already got into, how much you think its going to cost to get the next shee to that level? With or without the shee, I still think your a cool dude, just make the right choice bro! I say its not worth it but thats just my 2 cents. SICK BOY
You have to do whats best for you,but also you should think what's best for the shee.
01bansheeke
WAIT! lemme get some parts off that biotch before you do it! Man go with what feels right. Dark Ranger
Dude, you just have to ask yourself if you were going to go for a ride right now and all three were sitting in your garage which one would you take? That's the one to go with. I've got a Banshee and a dual sport. I used to ride that thumper everywhere and I loved it. Then I got a Banshee. Since then the bike hasn't had too many miles put on it. The Banshee is just too addictive. Good luck with your decision.
RNBRAD
Led, I've always said interests come and go and if you opt for the bike you will soon want another shee. Though trading it in now may seem practical, in the long run it will cost more, especially if and when you decide to replace it. You have too much money in your shee and I doubt the stealership will give you a dime edgewise. I'm sure that you will come to your senses when they tell you what they will give you on a trade. If you are going to do it, best option is to sell it outright to someone who can appreciate your time and money spent. Good luck in your decision. bigboybanshee
The way I look at it is...if you feel that you would be able to get more quality time on the bike, get it. Regardless of what your *toy* is, what matters most is what fits your lifestyle best. I'd hate to hear a banshee that's as good lookin' as yours go to a stealership, but, if that's what you feel in your gut, go with it
ledofthezep
I hear you all...thnx for the compliments & concerns. You guys are all stating things that I am pondering...although I have no complaints about my banshee at all & love riding it; I really don't get as much seat time as I'd like. With as nice as it is I hate riding it anywhere other than the dunes. I bet I have a total of maybe 4hrs on it since the rebuild. I've even kicked around the idea of trying to sell it outright to get my financial situation fixed, but have been holding off waiting to see if our house is going to sell 1st. The only time I ride it pretty much is at the dunes...and it's the bomb-shizzle on the sand. Usually, I'll wind up riding the EX around my trails & with buds around here because there's no where really around here that will allow me to ride the banshee to it's potential. And ever since I got rid of my TTR I've wanted another bike, but a bigger one that I could dual sport & ride back & forth to work--total of 15-20 miles. I have no doubt that I'd want another banshee, and no doubt that I could get one again...but I could always get an XR down the road too...decisions decisions. I inherited the dune buggy, built it with my dad & it was his pride and joy; we spent a lot of time together working on & cruise'n that thing, I'd part with all my toys before I got rid of his buggy. So I dunno...as of now, the banshee is going to stay. If anything happens otherwise, I'll keep ya posted and whether you all like it or not, still a die-hard HQ member.
