FoxBansheeRacing
As of right now I am not totally positive on what happened and how it happened is also sketchy. All I know is a close friend of mine was riding a utility quad at about 50-60 when he hit a deer. He was wearing a helmet but still has severe internal bleeding in his head. I have only heard that he is in bad shape, so I am not sure if he is going to make it or be alright or not. His name is Alex and I am asking you to include him in your prayers. I will also update everyone when I know more. Thanks.

FoxBansheeRacing
Thanks guys, just got some more info. He hit the deer head on and ran it over, but it threw him over the bars and the quad flipped end over end and landed on top of him. I was also told that the place where he was bleeding in the brain is a bad spot, and that if it starts to swell it will cause the brain to shift.. As of right now he is drifting in and out of conciousness (sp?) but is not in a right state of mind when hes awake. If he can make it through the next two days without it starting to swell, he should be alright.

STLBILL
Hi Fox: Having had personal experience similar to this I am definately praying for him! Cheer up! You're friend will be fine! Twenty months ago a cliff ran out in front of me at about 45 mph. That's how fast I was going. I'm not sure about the cliff. Cliff's must be tougher than deer. I've never seen a hunter taking a cliff home and hanging it on his wall. I'm the vindictive type so I tried, but the girlfriend wouldn't let me. The problem is they will outlaw ATVs not deer or cliffs as a result of this. -Bill
FoxBansheeRacing
Thanks guys. Its not looking good though, earlier tonight, his brain started to swell, and the bleeding got much worse. As of right now, he is paralyzed from the neck down, the doctors are not sure if its permanent or temporary. Right after that his blood pressure shot up and his heart beat dropped. He lost conciousness and was taken into critical care, and as far as I know he is still in surgery. From what I have heard, they have removed most of the left side of his skull to get to the bleeding, but the surgery went well and they are now putting the skull back into place. FoxBansheeRacing
Update- The surgery was a success and he has been doing much better since. He had a blood clot where the bleeding was at, and doctors thought he would have had 48 hours to live if they hadnt operated, but once they had him opened up it turned out that if they wouldnt have performed surgery, he would have been gone in no more than 2 hours. They removed the vessel that burst, and replaced it with an artificial one. He will survive now, but he still has about a 25% chance of being paralyzed on his right side, and its possible he has brain damage. Not sure if I said in my first post he was wearing a helmet, I was told he was wearing one but found out he was not.
