I have always used gear saver in my race bike with a stock Yamaha clutch ( yz 490 springs) and have only smoked one clutch, the reason I smoked the clutch was because the dumbass starting the race waited about 15 seconds to turn on the green light. I'm not sure that any tranny fluid would have held up to that, I had the bike in gear and the throttle wide open. If anybody has anything that will hold up to that let me know.

I use the JT-5 it resists water, rust, heat, cold and leakage, yet the oil is not very thick. It pours almost like ATF but it's sticky like filter oil. I figure an oil that can be used in a dozer or other heavy equipment that takes more abuse in an hour than I could give my banshee in a week is good enough for me :) and like I said it's about $8 for 2 gallons. Maybe my math is off but isn't that $1 per quart?

Cheap AND good. That doesn't happen very often.

You guys really should try the tractor oil like holyman says. I get the $8 2 gallon jug from walmart. It lasts LONGER than $7 a quart 85w golden spectro tranny oil and shifts as smooth as ATF, I pulled my clutch to do somework this summer and everything inside had a thick coating of oil on it. Its slicker than snot and just about as sticky. Expensive is not always better.
