I enjoy listening to my Rockets when riding.

About 3 years ago I took my mp3 player and put it in a fanny pack and ran the headphones under my shirt to my helmet. It was kind of a pain.

Does anyone here run helmet speakers to listen to music while riding?  If so where do you buy them and are they worth it?

No, but I can't think of anything better than being able to jam to some Zeppelin while out tearing shit up! :headbang: Anyone got more info on helmet speakers?

I've got the helmet speakers from my old Chatterbox which I then run to an MP3 player kept in my camelback. They aren't the greatest speakers but they stay in the helmet with some velcro. Usually after I pull my helmet on I do need to slide my fingers inside and position them correctly. You could make your own pretty easily. Just get some headphones that are low profile but don't fit inside your ears. Make sure they have wires going to each ear so that you can dremel the headpiece off. Pick up some velcro at a crafts store and stick the rough velcro side to the back of the speakers. That side of the velcro will stick to the helmet liner fairly well. Its best if you can get headphones with a very short cord which plugs into an extension. Sony makes some like this with volume control on the extension. This way you can minimize how much wire hangs off your helmet when you take it off.

I dunno how well this would work, but its called motomp3 it clips the back of your helmet and its 200 bucks. www.motomp3.com you could break it if you fell I think...I don't think its worth it personally.

i've done this with my snowmobile and your headphones have to pretty loud to hear them over the engine. and if it starts to run funny and sound different you can't really hear it because i had a billow in my exaust valve rip and it was boggin down on that side and i couldn't tell until i looked at the temp guages. Otherwise its awesome your pumped like the whole time if you get some heavy stuff.
