westexgt
I am riding in my 1st MX event since I was 8 years old. I can't decide which bike I need to use. We just ride dunes, so my bike has a is a 2001 banshee with a +4 swingarm, all kinds of power, and handles really well! My wife rides an 1989 Banshee that is stock with exception of pipes, filters, advance timing, stock swingarm, etc.. To win this race all I really need to do is holeshot, because the track is very narrow and hard to pass. Which bike do you guys suggest would be the best holeshot bike? Thanks, Kevin p.s. Basically what I am asking is will the +4 swingarm help or hurt my holeshot ability?
kenr74
I think on dirt you would want to run the stock bike. I had a +6 and it was great in the sand with big paddles but on dirt I just spun like crazy. Plus I'm not sure I would want to do a lot of jumping with and extended arm. westexgt
Well I built the +4 myself (so I trust it), and actually prefer the jumping of the longer swingarm. I think I am going to take both bikes saturday and see if I can run both during practice time to see which one holeshots better. banshee76179
Switch the swingarms from ur quad and ur wifes quad.. I think there is no difference from a 89 to 2001 on the swingarm...may be wrong though..

westexgt
Yes I am running a stock shock with my +4. I am not going to be doing any crazy jumping, in fact the same track last year there was not one time I saw an ATV come higher then 2 feet off the ground. It is a very tight course, with no doubles, no jumps really. Thanks for the help, I don't ride anything other then sand, just hated seeing 1st place being taken by the person who got the holeshot. I will keep you guys informed on what worked for me. Kevin
