jaysea1
Ordered a +4 chrome swingarm(which they had in stock) and a set of front Elkas...no rezzies(which they had to order) I ordered these items on 11-23-04, they charged my account that same day...still no parts. They would tell me waiting on Elka, than Elka was suppose to mail the shocks to me direct(2 weeks ago) The swing arm was suppose to be sent to me as well...2weeks ago, then I talk to Joel, who states I'll have everything This past weekend...1-15-05. So I wait till the 17th and call. Joel isn't there, and nobody knows nothing. Left a message , no return on phone call. Initially I was told 3 weeks because of the shocks...well? I look at it as I have paid for parts I don't have...and who knows if and when. I'm pissed now, and plan on cancelling through the credit company, cuzz who knows if Janssen would ever refund my money. Just a pain in the ass to go through the whole dispute process w/credit co. Thank God I did'nt pay with a money order...more trouble Anyone else with a bad experience with Janssen?

RNBRAD
Yea I ordered almost everything I have from them, swinger, a-arms, axle, spindles, rear hubs, stem.. tons of stuff. All my stuff has always been at my front door within a few days. I've never experienced a delay with them. Get Joel on the phone and tell him what's going on and what your going to do if it's not fixed. They will get the problems fixed, maybe they just don't know you didn't receive your stuff. Also Joel races on weekends and stuff, best time to reach him is when they open early in the morning. They're very reputable and shouldn't have a problem getting your money back if that's what you want. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ducman
That kind of service pisses me off. If you can cancel the order and refund through them it is a little less messy than going through your card because it the charges are reversed they can still send the parts even after the dispute and put the charges back on your card. Joel is a great guy to deal with, however, it did take quite a while for my stuff to be done, and I was in a hurry cause it was still mx season and I wanted to race yet. I ordered Elka front shocks, revalved rear shock and some racing a arms. It took a while and I was never told when stuff was gonna be done etc. and when it finally was done all they had was this "blue" powdercoated a arm set and I specifically asked for black. But I took a trip up there anyway and they had a set of black arms for me and everything was just perfect and Joel was sorry it took a while. I guess sometimes things just don't work out the best and it's not really anybodys fault. Don't be sour about not recieving your stuff yet, just give it a little more time. Janssens are great to deal with and I even chat with them when they come to the local mx track. Just give it a little time and everything will work out. jaysea1
thanks for the replies, I guess the majority of you had good service. I'll sit back a little, though I'm coming up on the 2 month mark pretty quick.
mat
You're not the first person to complain about Janssen's customer service. I remember reading a thread on a different website of someone having similar problems. But once Joel was contacted and got involved, it was taken care of pretty quickly. Personally I had a really good experience when I bought my A-Arms from them. I worked directly with Shawn. The only problem that I has was a few nicks in the powder coating. But I am going to put a whole lot more nicks and scratches in the finish from riding, so to me, it really wasn't worth complaining about. Good Luck. jaysea1
Yes... the swingarm just got here today, and it looks awesome. My shocks hopefully will arrive soon. I am pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the swingarm. It did take a little longer than they said initially, but the wait was worth it. I'm sure the shocks will be here in time for my next outing to Gordon's well(south of Glamis) RNBRAD ...did your stock rear shock hook up ok, being the swingarm is a +4??And did the factory brakeline work as well? In Janssen's defense...I don't like to bad mouth a company and/or person, I'm sure my situation was one of the few isolated cases, Joel was a nice guy, I think he's probably real busy right now. Any how, all is well in Banshee land
RNBRAD
Awesome glad everything is ok. Yea everything will bolt up fine. Even the stock brake line will work fine. Let me know if you have any problems.
Meat
I got my Janssen A-arms and swingarm just a few days after I order'd em. I bought my A-arms first and a few weeks later I had enough cash to buy my Elkas. I bought my Elka's though Janssen and they took a hellava long time to arrive. A few weeks. So all the Janssen parts were delivered immediatly.... but the Elka's took awhile to arrive. Iv read other guys askin' about why it takes Elka so long to hook up thier customers. You'd think Janssen would have a few Elka's in stock at his shop, but there are so many different ATV modles, so many different weight and A-arm geometery setups, there's no way he could keep twenty or so $800 a set shocks in his inventory. So he orderes um from Elka when he gets an order. Elka is the one that causes these delays.

Elka is the one that causes these delays.310656[/snapback] I can understand if that delay was from having to ship from Elka to the shop and then to the consumer but as I said above Elka had my shocks to me in 4 days I was expecting a week including two weekends. Who knows I may have been lucky? Or maybe Janssen doesn't like to order a set at a time maybe they place a bulk order at the end of every week in order to cut shipping costs? But in turn a bulk order would take longer to process than a single set.

Thats a good point. Im just assuming he places an order to elka when he needs a set of shocks for a customer. Maybe his biz is big enough to keep 30 different sets of Elkas in inventory. Prolly not. Prolly the best way to buy Elkas would be the way PTT did. Direct from Elka. Bypass the middleman.
broke
I ordered a few small replacement parts for my A-arms from them. I never did receive the parts, but they never charged my credit card either. So I guess no harm, no foul. It just kind of says soemthing about their ordering system to me. This isn't a gripe, just stating what happened to me.
