'SheeRider07
Ok, well I am going to be buying a new quad soon and I was thinking about buying a Banshee, Ive always wanted one and I thought id give a 2 stroke a try over my 4 strokes that Ive only owned. Right now, I have a 400EX. Anyways, I went to the dealer and they had this really nice Banshee for sale with a lot of aftermarket parts on it. Its an 02. I asked for a rpice and they said come back another day and we'll talk about the price, etc. So I am going to go back tomorrow or some time this week. The type of riding that I will be doing will be trails, hill climbs, crossing a few shallow creeks (1-2ft max), and some MX. Would a Banshee be good for me based on the type of riding that I will be doing as long as it is set up right? Also, any tips on how to maintain a Banshee so it will last longer and run better? With normal riding on it, how often do you think Id have to rebuild the top end? As far as MX goes, I will only be racing on the weekends for MX. Any more tips on Banshees at all? Do you think I will like the Banshee based on my riding type after I learn how to ride it right and get used to the 2 stroke power? I dont want to buy it then not like it and sell it right after I buy it. Ill just have to ride it and see for myself. Here are a few pics of the Banshee at the dealer. How much do you think they are going to ask for it? (Estimate)
'SheeRider07
Forgot to add this as well. Any tips of what to look over when looking at this Banshee? Like any common problems, etc? Im going to ask the dealer what the compression is at too. What should the compression be on a good running Banshee in each cylinder? wesw
first off that bike is pretty sharp looking. its got a coolhead, t5 and some new fancy frt shocks. probably going to ask for 4-6k for that bike i would say. it will be a fun bike to ride what ever you do
bansheefreestyler
if its at a dealer i bet they will be asking quite a bit for it
'SheeRider07
Yea, I figured that too. If its in the $4,000-$5,000 range though, Im probably going to buy it. Maybe they didnt give very much on the trade in so they are selling it semi-cheap. Im going to have to call the dealer and schedule a test drive as well. Holyman
I'll bet they won't want a penny less than $8500. You can mod a banshee to do almost anything and that banshee has alot of the stuff you would need is already done. Here's what I look for in a used banshee { http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...hl=holyman+tech }but by the curb shots you have there, it all looks great. Banshee~
Thats a very clean shee...if its around $5000 jump on it.All I do with my Shee is Trails 80% of the time.I love it when im flying up a hill in 3rd and the front tires are floating nothing climbs like a shee. That shee looks mx ready so you could race with it.Compression should be around 110 in each cylinder depending on altitude. ledofthezep
they gonna want an assload for that im sure. let us know tho how much they want. 307712[/snapback] Werd. That's a good look'n bike, but being a stealership; you best be willing to scissor off your left nut to get it within a reasonable price. But ya never know...you find out how much they want for it? Wallrat
If you click the link for Noss at the top of the forums you can find a compression chart for different size domes at different altitudes on the shee. A stock shee at sea level puts out something like 130 psi I think so 110 is a pretty worn out engine. Unless you're riding up in Colorado or something. sp1tekiller
That's a nice bike. If it's around 5k go for it.
'SheeRider07
Ok, well I finally went to the dealer today and checked it out. Wow, that thing is clean and spotless. All the alluminum stuff was polished on it to look like chrome. They said that they wanted $4,500 for it but would take $4,00 for it. Mods that I know of : wave rotors, prm swingarm, durablue axle, +2 leager a-arms, Works shocks with rezzies and springs PCed black, AC pro peg nerf bars, AC stadium front bumper, numberplates, carbon fiber hood and gas tank cover, Maier plastics, Renthal bars, pro deisgn cool head, boost bottle, Toomey T-5 pipes/silencers, K+N airfilter with outerwear and proflow kit, terry throttle and cable, shorty clutch/brake levers, and more that I dont know of really. I think I am going to go for it, what do you think?
