jeenyus
who makes the best aftermarket airbox?
05bansh
The only aftermarket air box I know of is the UM. Rocky Mountain sells one for the shee http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Machine_De...ar=2005&status=
05bansh
A little pricey in my opinion though.

fixitrod
and it's not worth it. I bought a used one and there was a weld missing and it sucked dirt. I noticed it before I used it and filled it with some rtv. I contacted them and they ignored me. I know I didn't buy it new.. but they should have backed the fact a weld was missing. I mean what... I took the weld off.. lol. Just fix the flange on the stock box and run with it.
jeenyus
the problem is that my Durablue filter is too big, the filter touch the airbox
fixitrod
The aftermarket boxes use 250r filters.
banshdog
I have the UM airbox. My brother found another aftermarket airbox. It holds two stubby K&N's.
fixitrod
My brother found another aftermarket airbox. It holds two stubby K&N's. 308350[/snapback] That makes sense. That way they don't have to weld up a chamber to make two carbs feed from one filter. Was it cheaper... it should be. It could just be two tubes with a box around it that way. A lot less complicated to make. Who makes that box.. I'd like to see it.
banshdog
Youve got the idea. Yeah it is much cheaper than the UM. The company that makes it is called CFM Performance. Website is: http://www.cfmracing.com/index.html Couldnt get the larger pic to work for me. here is a link to it on ebay where the pics are better. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...4519638733&rd=
fixitrod
I really like the fact that you can just slide the boot over the tubes when you want to take the carbs off. I'd rather have that box!! Seems like the filters may be a little small though. Guess I'd have to see it in person.
banshdog
Yeah the filters are really small, they look kind funny like those mini coca-cola cans.
