scotts96fast Posted January 16, 2005 Report Share Posted January 16, 2005 I'm looking for new pipes.I have t-5's which are a good pipe,but lookig for trail/woods pipe.Fatty's are at the top of my list..Than pro circuit and pt mids. From what I've been reading here Fatty's work well with modded motors.What about the pro circuits?Do they get better the more mods you do? Also can you even compare fatty's to pro circuits on a modded motor?From what I know their about the same.... I have a post to trade or sell my t-5's, if anyone is interested.... PTR are probably a bit better then FMF Fatty's in the low end but they are also $300.00 more than FMF's, in which I can not justify that $300.00 extra for those pipes. For that extra $300.00 you can buy v-force reeds and have money left over for a hig comnp head. Just something to consider. I'd pick 5 or so other brands for more low end before I picked them...The ptr's are quite bit more expensive, for most people it won't matter, but for that edge, its worth it. PT mids are a low-mid pipe which would be better than the t-5 i have for woods/trail start and stop riding correct?i rode a stock shee with PC and it was just easy to ride in the woods.(don't need to keep the R'sss up)do the pt mids fall off about the same as fattys and pc? I go by seat of the pants feel w/ correct jetting. I've done a lot of local jetting as well as my friends shop. I jetted all his street bikes and atv's...another thing that a dyno can't read is usable power...The ptr's don't look much different than others on a dyno, but are totally different in the real world. The torque is emphasized at the middle of the rpms instead of the top. Peak torque at higher rpms caused tire spin. This is only good for dragracing where you can hook up like sand w/ sand tires. The ptr's sign off a little earlier,but have a lot more torque and will pull a taller gear, giving you a broader powerband. You'll find yourself relearning how to ride the shee. I have owned over 6 other pipes (high revs) before I bought the ptr's...I won't go back. I've lost NO top end speed and dont' have to rev the piss out the motor to get any power out of it.
